Daniel Chaikin | 7 comments Can this edition - The Iliad of Homer (The Great Courses) by Elizabeth Vandiver - be separated from The Iliad by Homer?

Melanti | 761 comments Okay, I think that's it.

I removed Homer as an author - because if this is like the other Great Courses I've listened to, it talks a lot about homer but doesn't quote extensively enough from his work to justify him being an author.

The Iliad of Homer

I spotted another Great Courses edition and separated that as well.

Daniel Chaikin | 7 comments That was fast Melanti. Thanks! And yes, Homer should not be an author. (The lectures are about Homer, not by him - interesting as that might be. )

Melanti | 761 comments Well, some critical editions and study guides provide the original text along with commentary. Like the Norton Critical editions, for instance. And we combine those with the original works around here.

I just wanted to make it clear to anyone double checking my work that this isn't the case with these lectures.
