Not really, I know someone who's even lazier then I and he'll text me as N8 instead of spelling out my name

I mean I basically do the same by saying m8 instead of mate. It's just quicker, I'm not lazy :)
With my name, shortening it is easier. But "Nate"....that's only 4 letters. I've got 8 letters in mine...unless you count my full first name, then I've got 8 letters, a hyphen, 5 letters. lol. But no one calls me by my full name. Haha

I had the same problem...except with my mother and father. I know...doesn't make sense haha
