My train was stuck for 1h on my way back from work, so I ironically read 9 chapters lol. :P The writing is smooth, so I flee right through them.

My ambition fell apart!! I ended up sick yesterday with a fever, so I read only almost 2 chapters. LOL I had 4 pages left but just could not do it! I had a low grade fever, I was nauseous, and I threw up. I literally slept all day long and went to bed at 10:00 as well, which I never do! Anyway I am better today so hopefully I'll actually get some reading done today. LOL

15 chapters

Wow! I can't help but to feel awful (view spoiler)[for Tyler. Poor guy! Not only did he lose his mother to a horrible suicide, but his dad is the worst kind of parent ever! It's bad enough to be abusive, but to tell your son he's a bastard, his mother never wanted him, and he wished he were dead. OMG!!! I cannot stand his dad! (hide spoiler)]

Sheila (view spoiler)[ was definitely not being treated right by Tyler, but how does that give her a right to do what she did to Jordyn's jacket? Unfortunately there are really people out there who would do something like that. Doesn't say much about Sheila's character!! (hide spoiler)]

Jordyn (view spoiler)[ is definitely one dimensional, at least up through ch. 14. I think in chapter 15 she is beginning to show more of her true colors. She isn't all anger like she's portrayed, but neither is Tyler. (hide spoiler)]

Henry (view spoiler)[went through a terrible suicide with his brother. How awful!! No one should ever have to experience the suicide of a loved one. It takes you through so many emotions! I have a sister who tried to commit suicide three times and I found her all three times. I can't even begin to tell you the emotions I went through and (thank God) she survived all three. I never got a thank you for saving her life, only a "Why didn't you let me die?" I can only imagine the full gamut of emotions when one succeeds. (hide spoiler)]

I think I'll put this book up until tomorrow. I have a couple others I need to read.

Yes, this book is really emotional for me too. (view spoiler)[I wasn't the one who found my uncle, but we looked for him for days before the police found him. In my head, you must be in so much psychological pain to resolve to take your life through such physically painful means. (hide spoiler)]

My eyes were full of tears during chapters 15-16. (view spoiler)[I'm also very frustrated that no one picks the phone to call the police on Tyler's dad. God! This is a nightmare! I'm glad though the author doesn't force this into a romance. The narrative is great even though Tyler can be annoying and sexist. :P (hide spoiler)]

Tyler (view spoiler)[is in such a sad situation. How horrible to feel so trapped as he is. Afraid to tell and be taken away, killed, or kill. Ugh! I hate his dad!! I really wonder if his dad didn't kill Tyler's mother. I can't see her not even leaving Tyler a note. I couldn't believe how badly his dad beat him up too. Ugh! Awful! (hide spoiler)]

Jordyn (view spoiler)[is becoming the friend I thought she'd eventually be. I really like her a lot more now that she has softened up. She is the only friend Tyler has but a better one than when she was first introduced. (hide spoiler)]

I agree that for most people (view spoiler)[their psychological must be horrendous; however, I do see it as a selfish act as well. I'm not a psychologist or even near it but there are SO many options today and so much help that people can get. If you have children the legacy you leave them with must be just horribly painful for them to deal with! (hide spoiler)]

OMG I am an emotional basket case! I'm done and I can't even praise this book enough. Don't try to talk me out of it. LOL

Finished: Obviously reading about the abuse Tyler experienced at the (view spoiler)[hands of his father was horrific. And the DOG being sadistically beaten...ugh!!! BUT the beauty in Jordyn, Kelly, and Henry coming together to show Tyler that love can be found anywhere and that family is not always your flesh and blood was done so amazingly well. I know many people might not like the ending because it doesn't have that HEA but I didn't see it that way. I saw it as very positive because Tyler can move forward in his life. He can leave behind the place that caused him so much pain and go out and "discover" new things, places, people. And just because he and Jordyn said their final goodbye doesn't (in my optimistic heart) mean that it is truly the end of their relationship. I absolutely LOVED the ending and its positive message!!!
