If you have an audio book you want AFM to review, please contact our offices info@audiofilemagazine.com. I do not review audio books without being assigned them through the magazine.
Thank you for following our group(s) and sharing your thoughts about audio books.

Good afternoon everyone, Miriam here.
Yesterday (Feb 21, 2019), Aurelia C. Scott posted "Make a Wish! Great Listens for Grown-Up Birthdays: Audiobooks to treat yourself" http://bit.ly/2Is2yGxWhat better way to celebrate than to listen to biographies of women who never quit. Great Second Acts: In Praise of Older Women written by Marlene Wagman-Geller and read by Pam Ward. Of course we have a review for you to read http://bit.ly/2EqOjxP
There are plenty of other audio book selections to celebrate a momentous birthday, and isn't every one?!
Hope you had a wonderful, audio book filled birthday, Aurelia. Thanks for sharing your special day with everyone!
Happy Monday everyone, Miriam here reviewing the weekend's blog posts.
On Saturday (Feb 23, 2019), the blog post featured "Narrator Robin Miles on the Humility of Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes: AudioFile’s Podcast Interview" http://bit.ly/2XoXu9xRobin talks about how she prepares to perform an audio book and how she creates all the accents the populate the audio books she reads.
An example of one of the hundreds of Robin's versatile performances is Hidden Figures: The Untold Story of the African American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race written by Margot Lee Shetterly, read by Robin Miles. The review and along with a sound clip is here: http://bit.ly/2DrAGL4
If you haven't subscribed to "Behind the Mic with AudioFile Magazine" you can do so here at iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b... or just listen on here: http://audiofilemagazine.libsyn.com
Good evening everyone, Miriam here. It's getting dark and I wanted to turn your attention to our Wednesday (Feb 27, 2019) blog.Candace Levy explores "5 Questions with Cherise Boothe: Why patience is important in the recording booth" http://bit.ly/2VqNXgl
Cherise is involved with multi-voiced and solo performance audio books. She's blessed with a versatile narrative style and adopts many accents. After reading answers to questions about how and what she reads both out loud and in her imagination, check out some of her performances. Here are three I'm going to try.
The Good Braider written in 2012 by Terry Farish and read by Cherise Boothe. Here's the 2014 review and sound clip http://bit.ly/2umYJs5
The Parker Inheritance by Varian Johnson and read by Cherise Boothe is for children 8 years and up. The review of this mystery is here: http://bit.ly/2SiBvBc
Finally, here's one of Cherise's multi-voiced audio books. Jesmyn Ward's "The Fire This Time: A New Generation Speaks about Race" read by Cherise Boothe, Michael Early, Kevin R. Free, Korey Jackson, Susan Spain. The review and sound clip is here: http://bit.ly/2VuxW9j
Cherise's performances will hook you on audio books if you aren't already.

I'm a long time fan of George Guidall, so I'm ready to listen to Craig Johnson's Depth of Winter Walt Longmire, Book 14. I know that the reading will be spot on and the tension just perfect. You too can read the review and listen Guidall's amazing performance of Johnson's latest book http://bit.ly/2MpgJcm
