Hi,
I am Murtaza! I haven't even spent an hour on Shelfari and I have come across this cool group. People call me Matt because they find difficult to pronounce my name. I am aspiring to start a bookshop very soon and in my quest to research more about this business I am wandering a lot these days, and I daresay I will be finding a lot of assistance from the wonderful members of this group.
My all time favourite is JK Rowling, hands down! Can't think of any one when I am asked about my fav author except her! Her books are the reason that I started reading books in the first place.

I've lost count as well. I first read them back in 2003. I've been rereading them since. Some more than the others as ones I've read the newest book, I'd then go back to reread the others. And then reread the new one. Then it was reread before watching the new films. But now it's just all reread and rewatch. :)

By the way, sorry to burst your bubble Abby but Nagini couldn't possibly the snake Harry freed in the first book. That snake was a boa constrictor. Nagini, although resembles the appearance of a boa, was a venomous snake and boas aren't venomous. So yeah.

Hi, I'm Bob. I've only got one book at the moment in this Genre, Rhona's Bike. The next in the series is almost complete. Both are based in the fictitious mining village of Lobbs Bottom in 1955. Both are simple mysteries but do contain some mild naughty bits and simple kids fighting. I guess it's all down to what people want to read, but isn't that the same with all books? I would appreciate a few honest reviews on Rhona's Bike...but, it's only available on Kindle.

@Korina It is amazing! I found it searching around on Google. I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to books, so I wanted to be able to order them the way I liked. Goodreads didn't let me do that with my read books, so I searched around for something similar and here I am!

Yes, the show stays really close to the books, which is why it's so great. I love everything I've read so far. I just ran out of steam a year ago and haven't finished Feast for Crows. But I will.

Hi Captain! We're fine, thank God! Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) hit the middle part of the country, we're at the northern part but we still felt it here. It was really terrifying, and we've only experienced the winds! I can't imagine how scary it was for the people who were directly affected. By the way, the United States gave us a lot of support and humanitarian aid and I would personally like to thank you guys for the massive help. Thank you, good people of the United States! It was really heartbreaking to watch the news for the past couple of weeks but the overwhelming help of the International community was even more touching.

My favorite author right now is likely Karen Marie Moning, but Christie Golden is also one of my favorites as is Laurell K. Hamilton and Brent Weeks.

I was in this group a few years ago, but just came back to Shelfari, so here´s another intro:
Well I´m Chloé, and I read mostly fiction (realistic and historical.) My favorite authors are John Green, Agatha Christie, and Kathryn Stockett.
When I´m not reading or writting, I obsess over Doctor Who and Downton Abbey, play violin and piano, watch the vlogbrothers channel on Youtube, or go rock climbing.
My goal for this year is to read 100 books, and I´m currently in the proccess of making my list, so if anybody has any reccomendations, let me know! (Like I said, I read mostly fiction, but I´m open to anything!)

I love to read all types of books but over the years my love for YA has grown so much that now I read about as many YA books as I do adult books. It's hard for me to give the name of a favorite author, I love so many. When I was the age of most of the people in this room, my favorite author was Kurt Vonnegut, we didn't have YA back then like it is now. Tom, I read Vonnegut back around the time you did, but also read a lot of YA. I started reading YA again when my kids hit their teen years.
What kinds of YA do you like? I've been reading quite a bit of YA dystopian fiction recently, but also read other YA stuff. Right now I'm reading a book that is both dystopian & about a teen, but I'm not sure if it is YA & is called On Such a Full Sea.

Short intro. Screen name is my nickname (Lisa...just drop the "a" and that's how it sounds). I'm a voracious reader. My mother thinks I was a Silverfish in a past life. :-) I read YA before I was a young adult and now that I'm a not-so-young adult, I still love it and see no reason to stop. Some of the best writing to come along in the past quarter of a century has come out of the YA genre. Like many members here, I write. I am not published beyond my blog but I have big dreams. Being the mom of 4 children, two of them college age and out of the home and the remaining two junior high schoolers, I write the spectrum but my true love is fantasy/sci-fi and young adult.
