When did you begin to suspect that Calexico Moore might be alive?

message 2: by Charlene (new)

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments After Harry's discussion with the older woman who knew the circumstances about the "castle" and the brothers growing up there.
But I wasn't sure who was dead instead of Calexico. I had the idea from reading that the big man in charge in Mexico would have been more than a few years older.

Charlene, I didn't suspect this at all! I was caught flat footed.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Corpses without faces always make me curious so I had my suspicions from the start.

The idea that Cal had killed and replaced Zorillo entered my mind with all the hints that they were brothers, and were cemented when Harry went to the bull fight and Zorillo didn't come to see his bull in action (something he always did).

Harry's visit to the aunt just confirmed it for me and I knew the house would come into play as well.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Lauren, I didn't tie into the fact that Zorillo failed to show at the bull fight. I guess I was still thinking he was the father, not the son and half brother.

I just wasn't going down that track at all! This whole story seemed to get away from me.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I never suspected it at all. I figured Zorillo hadn't shown up to the bullfights because his own informants had warned him of the upcoming DEA raid and so he was taking extra precautions or had already left town. That's what I would have done.
