Um - I think the main thing I feel when the writing isn't flowing is a nagging sense of guilt. The writing never really 'flows' - I don't sit down at my keyboard and write write write - there are always difficult sentences or distractions. The only way to get the writing done is to force myself to sit down and do it, and some mornings are more difficult than others! When I'm not writing, I just have a constant nagging feeling that I'm not doing what I want to be doing, and this feeling gets me back to my desk before too long. I try to be gentle with myself, as all writers should!
