I found a nice iphone application called "Voice Dream". It will speak your .doc or pdf file back to you. Comes with one or two free voices, others are available for small price. You can sample the voices, to me the ones by 'Neospeech' seem more natural. When I drive to or from work I listen to a book project that I am working on.
There are options where you can download your file from, ie google drive. My car will let me play my iphone through the stereo system so it is totally hands free.
