So, I gave up on doing the challenge in sequence. I think the animal-cover/title/subject thing will be hard enough and I'm already way behind. And this book fit the immigrant-theme to well. The protagonist's parents are Jews from the Ukraine, living in Berlin and she often reflects on this background. It was a pretty weird book and I'm not extremely impressed. It's interior monologue to a very large extent and quite hard to read as you never know what really happens or what she is just dreaming/imagining and it's never explained. Interesting, but demanding and a little forced.
