Aaron Lauritsen | 6 comments Hi all!

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. Somehow I added a new edition to my title and now I can’t delete it. When I go into 'combine editions' and try to either 'separate' it from the original kindle and paperback, or use the 'separate tool', I'm brought right back to my main feed where nothing is changed. It's frustrating because i want to just delete it, but the real issue is that now the new edition is what is showing up on my profile even though it doesn't even have a cover of my bookk displayed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Cheer

Aaron

Chris Lange (chrislange) | 21 comments Hi,
I added my latest release to the Goodreads database 2 months ago, and someone added the same book again yesterday.
Thanks a lot for your help with this issue.

Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments Chris, you added an edition with ISBN 9781619359901 and Amazon auto-import added an edition with ASIN B017IWF6B0. I combined them both.

Can you confirm if 9781619359901 was published as an ebook in any format other than Amazon Kindle? I checked the publisher site and it seems to be available only on Amazon. All ebooks available on Amazon would be considered Kindle editions and have an ASIN. If your book was published only in this format, I can remove the duplicate :)

Chris Lange (chrislange) | 21 comments Hi Michael, my publishing house published on Amazon only so I'm guessing there's only one format.
Thanks for combining both editions. It's the second time this has happened with the same book, so it's better this way.
Thanks again :)

Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments Thanks for the confirmation. Merged the duplicate :)

Next time you manually add Kindle editions to your profile, use ASIN instead of ISBN. This conforms to GR policy and also avoids Amazon auto-importing another edition

I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks for your efficiency in resolving this issue.
