Patricia | 7 comments I read this book within the last five years and I believe it is relatively new. It is story about a young woman who is a Saxon whose castle is given to a Norman who has ridden with William the Conqueror in England. In the beginning she hits him on the head with a rock that she has shot from her sling shot. I believe her father had been killed in battle but I remember she had a brother who remains an enemy. She is forced to ride to London with the hero to marry. He is older than her. She meets Matilda, William the Conqueror's wife. On the return trip she is hurt. There is more but I don't want to spoil the story. If anybody can remember the title or the author, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for your help!

Patricia--this is one of the few groups where spoilers are almost required, since many times, those are the things that everyone remembers, since everyone remembers different minor things.

However, if you are still worried, there IS a way to put spoilers into your post and have them "hidden". The directions are up above the box on the right hand side in the Some HTML is OK click.

Patricia | 7 comments Hi, it is the The Prize by Julie Garwood! Thank you to everybody who responded. I even looked through my Kindle library to find the book and I couldn't remember it. This is a great group. Once again, thank you! (I will read the other books because this is a genre I love.)
