Souls Unfractured (Hades Hangmen, #3) by Tillie Cole"

Each book can only count for one card. If we use it for card 6, we can't use it for card 7.

Nanci | 1864 comments Way to go on entering all those books, Raine!
I've moved things around on the spreadsheet and we are sooo close to being done!

Once Greta finishes The Stand for Reverse
and I finish Valley of Amazement for 7Green
and Letitia finishes Court of Thorn and Roses for Red 9/2 and Beautiful Burn for hopefully a Red 9/2
then all we have left is.....7Yellow and we're all done with ALL hands!

Please look back at your books and see if you have already read a 7Yellow book that would work, or if anyone can please read one that would be fantastic! We really need just that one book! :)

It works for a 2! Tyler was a main character. :)

And this one:
My Drunk Kitchen A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut by Hannah Hart
must work for Grilled Cheese...

Kierra, I looked on the TinEye link to be sure and it said it was mostly gray...huh??? I posted it to the mods to see what they say. It looks bright yellow to me, so fingers crossed.

The other one seems fine for grilled cheese. :)

Nanci | 1864 comments Letitia wrote: "Finished ! :)"

Hooray, Letitia!!

With 2 days left we have:
1. Greta to finish her book
2. Nanci to finish her book (I'm 50% done)
3. and if Kierra's book works for yellow, then Kierra to finish hers
along with grilled cheese book.

We have got this team! So proud of all your determination to succeed!

Nanci | 1864 comments By the way the cards for May have been dealt if you want to take a peek at the spreadsheet. :) Anything you are reading now and don't finish before May 1st will count for May.

Kierra, if it's too much for you to read both books in 2 days, let us know and maybe Letitia, Arlene or Raine can help you out since they're fast readers.

message 410: by Greta (new)

Greta Yea! That's awesome!

Thanks for all your hard work, Nanci!

message 411: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra,
I just heard from one of the mods, Karen. Your book is 90% yellow, so it's definitely good! Read away!!

Nanci | 1864 comments Greta wrote: "Yea! That's awesome!

Sure! I was a teacher and school counselor for 32 years before I retired two years ago, so I know the stress Kierra has in her work life. Happy to help out this month. :)

Good! Adding it now. I'm 75% done with mine. Really good, so hoping to finish it tonight, if I don't fall asleep. Busy day watching some of our grandchildren. :)

kierra (karmania) Finished the Drunk Kitchen. Can anyone paste it into the spreadsheet? I'm from my mobile phone.

message 419: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra, I'll put it in for you.
Team, bingo is now complete!!! So excited!

Letitia, thanks for your offer. If you have a book that works for 7Yellow (yellow book cover-at least 50%) and want to read it as a back-up that would be great. Kierra is reading for that card, but it might be good to have a back-up since this is our final day to get the books read. You may want to read 95% of it and then check back about 10pm EST to see if Kierra got it done. If she did you can finish your book May 1 and it will count towards our May cards. Kierra, if you have finished by 10pm and can post, that would be awesome. :)

message 420: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments In all my excitement, I forgot to post that I finished the green 7 book, The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan .

Great book and a bit different from Amy Tan's normal books...quite racey!

Arlene | 35 comments Is there a spreadsheet that shows how our team compares to the others?

message 423: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) All done! A long train trip makes reading more fun!

message 424: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Awesome!! Way to go, Kierra!
Team we are now DONE with April! I knew we could do it!!
A few of you read a few books that were not used. Sorry about that, but hope you enjoyed reading them just for fun. Really proud of how we pulled together at the end and completed all the cards and also bingo!

Now you can start reading for May! Kierra, do you have time to take back the reins for May? if not, I can continue. Also, can you post another personal tracking spreadsheet for May for members to record their books?

message 425: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra,
What is there in The Perks of Being a Wallflower that works for card 7? I don't see it entered on the personal spreadsheet?

message 426: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Arlene wrote: "Is there a spreadsheet that shows how our team compares to the others?"

Not that I can find. If you click on "Team Challenge - UNO -2016" at the top of this thread, and then once there scroll down a bit you'll see March results, but I don't see anything for ongoing scores.

message 427: by Arlene (new)

Arlene | 35 comments I just checked out the cards for May and have 2 books I can start with.
I will be reading Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut for the 5 red card in hand 2.
I will also be reading Three Wishes by Stephanie Bond for 3 card in hand 1.

Nanci, I looked at a couple of the other teams feeds and came across a rankings spreadsheet. Is it possible for us to get the link on our team page?

message 428: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments I looked also, Arlene and I see the UNO 2016 Current Point doc. It is sharable, but I don't know how to post it to our thread as other teams have done. I've posted the question on the Captain's thread, so hope to get an answer soon.

I've marked those books down. Thanks for taking them!

I'm off to bed. Hopefully Kierra will be able to respond about her book tomorrow and we can still get credit.

message 430: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Ok team, getting a little concerned that we've only got until about 7pm tonight to finish filling out the spreadsheet for our 7yellow book and I haven't heard from Kierra. I'm still hoping she'll look at her email, but does anyone have a book that would work for that card as a back-up? I'm just too slow a reader to complete in such a short time and I'm leaving shortly for a meeting. I'll check when I get home about 7pm and hope we've got something. :)

message 431: by Greta (new)

Greta My yellow book A Year of Biblical Womanhood should work! The author travels to Virginia. That counts right? I'm in my phone so can't link but it's in the spreadsheet.

message 432: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Greta, you are a saint!! No pun intended due to the nature of the book that saved us! lol I've made the changes and also added the book to my TBR. I've heard about it a lot and been wanting to read it for awhile.

Kierra, so sorry we didn't get to count your book. I know you understand that I had the clock ticking to get the spreadsheet all squared away and it was in the best interest of the team to get that hand completed so it could count and we wouldn't lose all those points.

We are now officially completely done with April! Good job, everyone!

message 433: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Now looking forward to May...
I thought it would be good to get our color books read early, so thought I'd see if we can get them assigned now. Arlene has taken our first one, 5red. Let me know which ones you'd like to commit to read.

9green
8red
8red
2green
2blue
7yellow

message 434: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Oh, sorry guys... I was at my May the 1st celebration, it's ok here now... Can I take the color for May? Promise I'll get it written down in time :)

Also, could you please post another personal spreadsheet for May? I don't know how to do that.
Thanks!

message 441: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Yeah, sure. I'll return home to my desktop in 12 hours :)

No, I'll take 8 red, because I can't use my Yellow book read in April. No biggie. I have a nice book with a red cover!

Ok, 8 red it is! Hope you enjoyed your May Day celebration!

message 443: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Also, Kierra, just to let you know, I sent a PM to Juan to see if he still wants to stay on the team since we didn't hear from him all of April. I'm not sure if they can find another player for us this late, but I'll ask.

message 444: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Team,
Just to let you know for April, we finished second to last. :( Still, we should focus on the positive. We completed the bingo and all our books and some of the other teams did not. :) We had a rough March with players coming and going and that put us behind. If you want to look at the results yourself, just click on "Team Challenge- UNO- 2016" at the top of this page and then scroll down and it's listed as "monthly results" under all the team threads.

message 445: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments For this first hand we have two Reverse cards, so please post here and on the spreadsheet if you've read something someone else is reading.

message 446: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments I have read Slaughterhouse-Five which Arlene just finished

message 447: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Yeah, we didn't finish March Mini, and that costed us a lot of points. But that's ok, we still have May to play :)

message 448: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Also, guys, your books must be longer than 100 pages. The assasin and the pirate lord that Letitia read can't be used since it's only 70 pages :(

message 449: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Good catch, Kierra. Sorry, Letitia. I removed it from both of the spreadsheets.

message 450: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Brianna wrote: "I have read Slaughterhouse-Five which Arlene just finished"

I need to leave Slaughterhouse 5 where it is since it's for a cover color book. Has it been more than 6 months since you read it? If so, then you're allowed to reread it and then we could use it as a Reverse with the reason being that Arlene has read it. I think that's correct. If incorrect, please let me know. The Reverse card is tricky in my mind sometimes.
