kierra (karmania) Letitia, Greta, welcome!
If you have any questions, ask me :)
We have 2 spreadsheets: Team Spreadsheet (only captains can edit it) and Personal one (every team member edits it). I will pm you a link to the Personal spreadsheet.
You saw the Team Spreadsheet. There are some red marks there, because we assigned the books that had not been read. So if the person doesn't finish the book before April 1st I will have to rearrange the hands. Red is colored just so I won't forget to check those books :)

kierra (karmania) Greta,
Later means that we can add any book to this category. That's why these cards are filled at the very end.

"__ used it"... Well, we have the Draw2 card. It means that one book can be used for 2 cards. So for example in hand 5 Raine read The Hurracaine. And we used it in both Skip and 3 cards. and then I wrote in Draw2 who used this opportunity.

Greta Ok, thanks for explaining Kierra! I will look for the spreadsheet.

Here is my bookshelf:

Teasha Schultz (lhk3) | 65 comments My Uno Shelf

I attempted to link my bookshelf for the uno challenge above. I hope this works! If not, just let me know.

If we have a book we want to read that fits the challenge, do we post it on here or should we pm you with the book?

message 155: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Letitia, no, you don't pm me. You can write it here and discuss here, but you can also add to the Personal spreadsheet, I will pm you the link to it on an hour.

You will see there a list of all our books and the categories that you can use. Honestly, most our teammates just add the books there, because it's super easy.

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Hello Team Scooby Doo from Team Cars, matching a book to the memory below.

As an adult I continue to be a big patron of the library, but I have learned to read ebooks too and like the ease of reading them in bed at night on my ipad without a lamp that would disturb my husband. My favorite genre is historical fiction, but I also love well-written fiction, non-fiction, and anything that makes me think, or helps me to learn more about a subject.

I too love Historical Fiction, especially the ones where I can learn something. For some reason I've been reading a ton of Romantic Historical Fiction lately though - not learning much but occasionally rolling my eyes. :) The book I read for your memory is Eternity by Jude Deveraux - a historical fiction novel about mail-order brides in the Montana territory - plus it is a library book. I LOVE my library.

Thanks for sharing your book memories with us.

Hi Allison Ann,
I love your connection to my memory! Especially the part about rolling your eyes at the romantic historical fiction. lol Sounds like an interesting read, even still. I know what you mean about loving your library. It's my home away from home!

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra,
Also for Flawless, I added the word "blueberry" for the Easter MINI challenge on the spreadsheet.

message 159: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Kierra I should finish And Then There Were None tonight and The Night Circus some time tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll finish The Diary of a Young Girl, but I'll try.

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Welcome to our new team members.

message 166: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments So as I'm just curious since 2 of our new members have checked in, our we allowed to use their books that they've read in March previous to joining or only the books they read from this point forward?

message 167: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Brianna, I have asked the same question yesterday and the answer is yes, they can.

so Greta, Letitia, look at the Personal spreadsheet and add the books you have read in March! Or write them here, I'll add them myself.

message 168: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Yay that's great. I'm sure that should help us out a lot

message 169: by Konstantina✨️ (new)

Konstantina✨️ (itskt) | 12 comments So, do we decide and arrange as a team who's going to read what or do we just choose and start?( I'm new here:) )

message 170: by Greta (new)

Greta Ok, I will do that!

message 171: by Greta (new)

Greta I'm wondering the same thing as Konstantina.

message 172: by Konstantina✨️ (new)

Konstantina✨️ (itskt) | 12 comments Kierra wrote: "Why do new guys never check in?.."

Whaaat? What do you mean "check in"? How do I do that?

message 173: by Greta (new)

Greta I've added the books but need to go through and see what all they qualify for. Will finish by the end of today.

message 174: by Konstantina✨️ (new)

Konstantina✨️ (itskt) | 12 comments Do all the books we've read in March count if they qualify for the reason or do they count anyway or do they have to be on the spreadsheet?

I usually don't know what I'm going to read day to day so I just wing it and read whatever I'm in the mood for. But I usually read at least a book a day.

message 176: by kierra (last edited Mar 31, 2016 12:26PM) (new)

kierra (karmania) Wow, Greta, Letitia, you've added a lot of books :) But, Greta, you have to put them to your UNO shelf, so that moderators can check your read dates easily.

Konstantina, you've checked in by writing here!
So, no, we usually just add the books directly to the spreadsheet and we discuss here the most rare cards. Like in March our most rare cards were Reverse, 8 and 5. So when we found that out, we started choosing books that had specific names, titles etc.

Don't worry! All you have to remember: put your book into your UNO shelf, fill all the possible categories (or write it here if you don't like using google docs). And don't forget to show up in this thread haha

Also, we have mini challenges (optional). Like "Easter Mini": you find a special word in your book and get extra points.

message 177: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Also: who read To kill a mockingbird? Somebody had to read it, guys!

message 178: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Kierra, do you mean has someone read it this month or in the past?

I read the book back in January, I believe.

message 179: by Teasha (new)

Teasha Schultz (lhk3) | 65 comments if someone needs to read it this month, I will. it's on my list of books to read anyways.

message 180: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Brianna, in the past. Reverse goes for "anytime before"
Letitia, we needed to use it as a Reverse in March. Maybe there is a book in the spreadsheet you have read before?

Ok, looks like we filled everything except for one Reverse.

Have fun on April 1st :)

message 181: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Hey guys sorry. It was storming really bad and my internet went out. I did finish my book, The Night Circus, around 10pm. I don't know if it counts though since I didn't get to post it in time

message 182: by Greta (new)

Greta I did add my books to my shelf now from all of March :-) Not sure if it's too late.

message 183: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Greta, well done. Check the spreadsheet. Are there any books you have read before? If we can't add Brianna's book then maybe we have a "backup" book?

Brianna, I think it's ok though, since you finished it in time. Last year we had 3-4 days after deadline to check every uno shelf and rearrange something.

message 184: by Greta (new)

Greta Books that others have read that I have read before?

message 185: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Yep. So we can add somewhere "Greta has read it" and the book becomes Reverse.

message 186: by Teasha (new)

Teasha Schultz (lhk3) | 65 comments I will check the list to see if I read any books that someone else read after school today or during my prep.

message 187: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Hooray for our new members! You swooped in and saved us!!

message 188: by Greta (new)

Greta Ok, will check that out too!

message 189: by Greta (new)

Greta I have read-

Diary of a Young Girl
Slaughterhouse-Five
The Kite Runner
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Secret Life of Bees
The Catcher in the Rye

These are all in the past before this challenge.

message 190: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Nice, I have 2 more hours to rearrange things!

message 191: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments I just finished Little Prisoners: A Tragic Story of Siblings Trapped in a World of Abuse and Suffering. I'll put it on my UNO shelf. I didn't see a personal spreadsheet to put it on yet.

message 192: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments I'm excited for this month. I'll probably read a lot more books this month because the Phase 10 challenge I created for my group starts today. I'm really curious to see how it plays out. So hopefully I'll be able to use the books between the 2 challenges

message 193: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Yeah, I want to read more books this month as well. Just 3 books in March, that was bad...

I will create the new spreadsheet for April today. You can add books to the March page until then.

message 194: by Greta (new)

Greta That sounds fun, Brianna! I've joined more challenges this month so that should fuel the fire to read more :-)

message 195: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Anybody else doing the Battleship challenge? I'm also playing Travel Brigade with the Smokin' Ladies team. Great when the books work across challenges!

message 196: by Greta (new)

Greta Yes to Battleship ;-) not familiar with the Travel Brigade is though. I love games & team challenges! And yes, when books can fit multiple challenges that is all the better!

message 197: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Me too, Greta! Just signed up for another one in NBRC (Nothing But Reading Challenges). Striving to read books from your TBR shelf. I need this one! lol

message 198: by Brianna (new)

Brianna Andreda | 121 comments Yes, it is Greta. It kind of keeps me on track when I have a deadline and a certain amount of books to finish reading. Nanci and Greta, what group does Battleship? And I've never done the Travel Brigade

message 199: by Greta (new)

Greta Oh Nanci I am doing the Around the World challenge too! Just jumped in as a hitchhiker.

message 200: by Greta (new)

Greta Brianna, it's AMMP Game Night, it is a challenge I created which is why I winked :-)
