Greta There is a Yuna character mentioned in my current book! She is not a main character but that's not required, right?

message 602: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) I have just finished a book "Yes, please", that could work for Y.

message 603: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Also, I'm finishing rereading Me Before You (it has a pretty red cover, if that is still needed)

message 604: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) And again, Nanci, good work keeping the spreadsheets up to date!

Kierra, I looked at your UNO shelf, but there's no date for Yes Please! What date did you finish it? Thanks. I will add it for the "Y" for Norway too.

Yes, yes, yes!! Does it have something in it that will work for an "I" for card 8? I read it a few years back, but can't remember all the characters.

That's right, Greta. I'm using Kierra's book at this point, but thanks!

kierra (karmania) Nanci, Date for Yes Please is May 26th (I added it)
As for Me Before You, it's not the "I" letter for card 8, it's "E" :)

PS Can England go for E?

For the Eurovision I have the U from my book Until June or Until Death Do We Part

Silly me, yes "E" for 8. England works for sure! I've got it on the spreadsheet. Just let me know the date you finish it. That helps a lot, Kierra!

message 611: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Thanks to Raine, we finished our 7th Eurovision word! Keep posting on here for how your books work for Eurovision. Even if we can't finish another complete word, we'll still get points and every point counts!

Thanks for coming on strong for the end, team!

kierra (karmania) Nanci, do you somehow track the books that were used for Eurovision in our personal spreadsheet?

I read it when it first came out and it enjoyed it. I wasn't overly enthused but I liked it.

Nanci | 1864 comments Kierra wrote: "Nanci, do you somehow track the books that were used for Eurovision in our personal spreadsheet?"

No, I didn't track them there. I've actually been doing it old school in a notebook. It seemed easier for me to keep up with them that way. Do I need to have them on the personal spreadsheet for the Mods? (Just a slight panic in my voice.)

message 616: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Here's the latest update.
With Arlene's post we now have only 4 letters left in the word BROADCAST for our 8th Eurovision word. Things are looking up for finishing this word in the next few days! The letters that are left are: O, A, D, A.

We are doing great on our hands! I know some of you are reading like crazy to get the last few done on time...keep burning through those pages! :D

message 617: by Greta (new)

Greta Wow, we are doing great!! Thanks for keeping track, Nanci!

Greta Finished Vampires in the Lemon Grove Stories by Karen Russell

I will do a full update when I get home :-)

message 622: by kierra (new)

kierra (karmania) Nanci, finished Me Before You.
Is there another Red Cover book we need to handle?
Also, what's Player X? Was it a minichallenge I missed?

I hope we haven't had a breakdown in communication, Kierra. In post 578 I asked you how you were doing for your red book that you said early on you would read and your response in post 590 led me to believe you were reading it and would post later. Then when you offered to read Me Before You, we were talking about for Hand Twelve. So if you haven't another 8Red book, then no, we don't have a book for that yet. Please let me know if you've got another 8Red you're reading. I'm thinking I misunderstood you. :)

Player X we gained when the Mods gave us a break bc we'd had so many people drop off our team. It's way back in an earlier post if you want to search. I can't use Player X for the 8Red because we didn't have and 8Red in April hand. We do get 10 books read by Player X, if needed, so now we will definitely finish all our hands, just the 8Red would hold us back...but hopefully not. Sorry so wordy!

If we need a red8, I can read this book.
(I checked this time beforehand the letter needed and one of the characters is Elena). Its on my to be read shelf.

:)

message 627: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Letitia, You will save the day if you can read that for us! If Kierra comes back and has another red8, then I'll just use that for a wild card. Thank you sooo much!

When you finish The Girl You Left Behind just let me know. :)

message 629: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 1864 comments Here's the post from May 6 about Player X.

Great news team! The mods were able to help us out concerning our lack of team members. Here's the message I received from Karen:

So the actual books read by your remaining team members last month was 81 and their books p/m on sign ups would have been 72.
The average for team sizes based on sign up numbers is 82. So if we were to get a new player, I would look for someone at 10 books per month.

As we won't get a new player, I've spoken to pixie and we suggest that for May, Scooby Doo can chose any 10 books you read in April and use them again in May as a "psuedo player". In the player name on the spreadsheet just call it 'Player X' ;)

I will add the 10 books from 'Player X' after we are part way through the month and see what we really need. This is really going to help us be on par with the other teams and so nice of them to help us out this way!

I am going to use 'Player X' now to help with the cards we still need to fill. I am going to be out of town starting tomorrow until late evening on the 31st, so I want to get all the cards done that I can. I'll add the color books and finish Eurovision on the evening of the 31st.

Greta's book for the Reverse in Hand 2, The Girl You Left Behind and
