You can shift the flags around a bit, rather than put them spot on where Google says your city is centred. Like, maybe even on your actual street address ... I'm sure no-one would use this to track you down and force you to back their book or anything like that.

Hey Adam :) Open it up while on a computer, click on "Open in My Maps," then type your city in the search bar and click "Add to Map." Once the point is added, you can click on it to edit the name.
