SOLVED. Mystery/Horror [s]

A while ago I read a book about a man that moves to this strange house. If I remember correctly the house is weirdly shaped and has strange angles. I believe the man lives there alone and that his wife died from falling down a cliff. I think the story revolves around the man trying to find out more about this house. Oh yeah, I have a vague memory of this house being octagonal or something like that. I've been searching for the title to this book like crazy but haven't been able to find anything about it.

What year did you read it? What country/region is the setting? What time period? Remember the cover? Author male or female?

I can't remember which year I read it. Maybe 2010. The time period was 90's maybe early 2000's. I'm pretty sure the author is male.
