TCF Hangman II

Denise I woke up a couple of months ago and found out that I had been 35 when I went to bed...and got up as a 60 year old! I keep thinking that someday I will have to start acting my age, but what's the rush. And I am loving the over 60 discounts. My hubby thinks I'm crazy, but dang I've lived long enough to get them and I'm using them.

Is there a P?

Trea, there 2 Ds.
VampAmber, 2 Ps. (I LOVE Austen retellings!)"
This one was pretty cute, but the best one I've read so far was definitely Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik. It felt exactly like Pride And Prejudice if it had been written only a few years ago instead of the 1800s.
Leslie has already asked for any Cs. And S and P have been used as well. Sorry. You'll need to read another book to ask for a letter.

lol, nice, thanks for thinking of me

Is there a G?
Is there an R?

Is there a G?
Is there an R?"
Lanelle, I hate to nitpick, but Kathy's post doesn't actually list the second book she read, just the author. One could assume she read either The Rosie Project or The Rosie Effect, but you know what they say about assuming anything! I would think she'd have to specify the book title before she gets a chance to guess an R for it, wouldn't she?

Is there a G?
Is there an R?"..."
My apologies to all for not proofing my message before posting. I read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, which was the source of my asking if there might be an R. I will be more careful in the future.
That shows how tired I was last night when I updated the guesses. I didn't even notice!
But you got the quote right, Kathy. Congratulations! The quote is from Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster.
In the story, the main character, Judy, is relating how bad her day was: it rained when she wanted to golf, she banged her elbow, the dress she ordered was too small, the maid mixed up all her school papers, she didn't like the dessert served at dinnertime, the students were kept at a lecture longer than usual, and to top it all off, someone interrupted her reading The Portrait of a Lady.
That's when she says, "It isn't the big troubles in life that require character. Anybody can rise to a crisis and face a crushing tragedy with courage, but to meet the petty hazards of the day with a laugh - I really think that requires SPIRIT."
Nowadays, we say, "Don't sweat the small stuff!" Someone was nice enough to write a book about it :) (Don't Sweat the Small Stuff)

A new quote has been posted. It's a long one.
