Is it

Maybe heaven will be a library and then I might get to finish my "to-read" list.

Catherine, since I am unable to PM you, I'll have to mention this in the thread.

Please don't call out that you know the puzzle and then not solve it! By calling out that you have it, but don't solve it, you keep others waiting on you when they might also solve the puzzle! I do believe that this is the third time you've done this, and the second time I've mentioned it.

I know that this game is just for fun, but it can also be frustrating for some of the others, myself included, when you call out that you have it, and don't come back to solve it. We don't want to be rude and solve it out from under you, like Denise had to when you never came back and solved it.

If Lanelle has missed a letter in the puzzle, please PM her with it directly, that way the puzzle can continue to be worked if needed. Thank you for understanding.

Denise, that right. Congratulations! My heavenly library would have to have a book club with it so that I could discuss all those books.

I'm currently down in Tucson visiting my mother-in-law who is in an assisted living facility, recuperating from surgery. I'll post another quote late this afternoon. There is a strong possibility that the next quote will be about libraries, too ;)

Um...SORRY!!!!! I was called into a job interview...and as I recently LOST my job! I kind of thought that it was important! I didn't mean to be gone for so long...if you'll notice...I thought that there might have been a lettre missing...so I wanted to be sure about it first...Excuse me!! Yes...it is for fun.... I never stopped you from solving that other one....

Yes, a job interview is important, but this is not the first time you've had others waiting on you. I could understand it if it was the first time, but it wasn't.

Thing is, you could always say in the thread that you'll be away from the computer for an extended period of time if something like this happens again, and let the others know it would be ok to solve it. I know I would feel bad if I solved a puzzle out from under you, so I don't do it, but can't you put yourself in our shoes when we have to wait on you to post? Wouldn't it frustrate you if, say, I called out in the thread and said I had it, but then never came back and solved it, and you were stuck waiting 6, 8, 10 hours for me to solve it? I know I have constraints on my time as well, as I am sure the others do as well, so we shouldn't have to keep refreshing the page every 30 minutes or so to see if you've come back to solve it. It's just a matter of being fair and courteous to your fellow players, and I'm just asking that you think of others too.

Feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this further, as I don't think having a fight any further in the thread would be constructive. You are also welcome to PM Lanelle and complain about me, should you wish, and ask her to bar me from the game. That, too, is your right. However, I will say that this game doesn't have many regular players, so I would rather not see anyone leave it by force.

The thing is, when I'm not so extra sleep deprived, I almost always check, too. I'm fully allowed to place all the blame on insomnia, right?

Lanelle, couldn't we amend the rules to allow use of secondary letters (from the second word, third word, ect) when all of the traditional means of guessing have been exhausted? Almost doesn't seem fair that Debbie can't participate, just because we've already guessed all the letters that she'd use traditionally.

message 797: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20965 comments Mod
I think we'll leave the rules as they are. I think this is only the second time this has happened.

Debbie doesn't sound too disappointed that her book wouldn't work towards solving the puzzle. She just wanted to share her accomplishment.

By the way, wtg Debbie!
