Adele (harukoraharu) I'd forgotten which level I chose :) and though I have my own 'Scotland' category in My Books those are set in Scotland so it would be easier if I list these here.

Knots & Crosses (Inspector Rebus, #1) by Ian Rankin 1. Ian Rankin - 'Knots & Crosses' - I've read a lot of crime fiction lately so don't know why I never got around to Rebus. Bit too similar to Wallander (and Beck), a lot shorter, early days though,

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson 2. Robert Louis Stevenson - 'Treasure Island' - I only picked this up after Rankin mentioned how much he was influenced by Jekyll & Hyde. Who doesn't know the story.

Number three is on the sofa but really need to get back to some accountancy study tonight :(

I wish I could, in good conscience, tell you to ditch the accounting and just read the good stuff. But that would be wrong. lol Your choices look good. Rebus is on my list to visit someday. I have never read "Treasure Island." I'm usually not a classics sort of person but I have to admit it looks pretty good.

Adele (harukoraharu) A couple more books to add:

Raven Black (Shetland Island, #1) by Ann Cleeves 3. Ann Cleaves - 'Raven Black' - interesting to read a book featuring where you grew up, and even the odd person you know, but found this one a bit too far fetched.

Hide and Seek (Inspector Rebus, #2) by Ian Rankin 4. Ian Rankin - 'Hide and Seek' - liked the addition of a sidekick, calling him Holmes though, otherwise I found it hard to put down, could easily binge read these if I had several on loan.

I LOVE Rebus! It's like putting on a favorite old bathrobe each time I sit down to read one. I've not read any Stevenson yet, but I will! Good lot of books for you so far Adele!

Adele (harukoraharu) Recently got through a couple more, these in series, though like Jim took a break of a few books between reading (will likely read Grey Granite in 2-3 couple of months):

Sunset Song by Lewis Grassic Gibbon 5. Lewis Grassic Gibbon - 'Sunset Song' - took a while for me to get into it, story was interesting though dialogue tended to ramble on. Maybe I'm too accustomed to more modern writers.

Cloud Howe (Scots Quair, book 2) by Lewis Grassic Gibbon 6. Lewis Grassic Gibbon - 'Cloud Howe' - this was in some ways the more interesting of the two, comparable to a Scots 'Germinal'. Coincidentally BBC Radio 4 have just serialised this, for those who can access it on iplayer

Thanks for the heads up on the BBC show! The radio shows are available everywhere I believe. I still have to read Grey Granite too.
