Char (charcass) | 249 comments I feel so bad I didn't get to read this with you guys and post my thoughts cause god I had many thoughts. This month has been INSANE. I am almost through, all the crazy stuff have happened. I cannot even imagine what more could happen. I'm sure G.R.R.M. will not find any probs with adding another last minute tragedy to the mix so I'm staying skeptical and paranoid till the last page. :'D

And about the holding off part, I'm with you there. I didn't even manage to finish a single book in june so I fell so behind on my reading challenge. Would like to read a couple of short contemporaries before we dive into the 4th book.

Great! I need a break because I'm in love with this series and I'm scared what the 4th book will bring. I need happy and bright for a while now.

Char (charcass) | 249 comments Hiyya! We are starting A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, #4) by George R.R. Martin on the September 1st. Would someone please change the details of the thread?

Chelsea I will kind of be reading this with you. I'm reading this and A Dance with Dragons simultaneously.

message 208: by Caron (new)

Caron (diminishingthoughts) | 320 comments I'll join in too but I can't promise that I'll always be on track.

What? HOW? LOL.

That's so interesting. But for a first time reader isn't it confusing? Or is it actually better to read at the same time?

message 212: by Caron (new)

Caron (diminishingthoughts) | 320 comments I've only read the prologue and I'm now halfway through chapter 2. I think I'll read it this way. I've been confused from the beginning.

You mean like confused when you read both or just when you read feast for crows? I think I will read it after and then when the next books is about to come out I will re-read them together using the link you posted. Thanks btw!

No, confused when I read Feast on it's own. The prologue is what confused me mostly. I've gotten so used to the usual characters that I was taken aback by these new ones. I'll read it with the link for my first time. I'm sure I'll be able to re-read the entire series again sometime.

Prologues in this series are always confusing for me lol

That's so interesting, I kinda wanna read it like that, because I know that they were suppose to be one book originally. I'm so torn now!

You're welcome. I just wanted to read it that way because I'm afraid I won't like A Feast for Crows or find it too confusing if I don't.

I think I will stick to reading one at a time. I actually am like 100 pages in because I started this last month and haven't read since and I'm quite enjoying it. And to be honest this is intimidating for me. One is enough. But I commend you for your bravery! :D I wish I didn't find the size of them so daunting!

I think I'm going to try reading the book together too.

Melany (mel-mel-any) | 1341 comments Did anyone start?

message 221: by Char (new)

Char (charcass) | 249 comments Technically I started this over a month ago, I still need to read the two chapters I have planned for today though (made a plan and everything lol). Anyway I am about to start chapter 12 titled the kraken's daughter. So far it has been good but compared to a storm of swords it is a bit slow.

message 222: by Melany (new)

Melany (mel-mel-any) | 1341 comments I've only read the first four chapters but I plan to read some more later. I just finish reading Cersei's first chapter (view spoiler) And it impossible to compare anything to Storm of Swords, so much happened in that book that anything would seem slow in comparison. Lol

Alriiiight I'll read this when I get home today. Page 275, so 153 to go. Should be doable with the 5 hours I have free today :) And after I've caught up with this I'll watch my maths lecture, finish off last week's GoT and then do some uni work I think. Tonight I'll try and get Holes started and finished.
