Michelle (michelleturnerismyname) | 28 comments This whole book club is a choice. It was each of our choices to join this book club, and it is each of our choices to read the books suggested or not. We don't need to pass judgement on someone else because they have decided something regarding their life, or make them feel as though they are wrong in their choice. For all we know this book hits too close to home for some, or there is too much going on in life to dedicate time to reading. And on top of that, if someone else doesn't read a book, is it that big of a deal? If you want to read the damn book, then do so, and if you don't want to read it, then don't. It is literally that simple. No discussion necessary.

Hi Achab! I'm sorry that this one thread has deterred you from keeping yourself involved with this book club. While some of the discussions have been heated, and there is an occasional rude thing said (after all this is the internet), generally speaking this is a very positive space with great discussions and encouraging people. I do hope you reconsider, though I will completely understand if you do not. This is a poor representation of what this book club is about.

Well said. But do not let this stop you from choosing to read what interests you, and when you can. Reading is something for pleasure so should be done when one can. It is a book club towards a common goal (sort of), not school (even those some take days off).

If positive people leave because of the negativity, then what will become of this space?
Hope to you see you around =)
