I am a professionally trained proofreader, an experienced copy-editor and a published author as well, and I know the problems of self-editing. The real problem is, you know your story inside and out so when you read over it, your brain fills in any problems. After all, it knows what you meant, even if the copy doesn't. A caring copy-editor doesn't do this primarily for the money, a fact reflected by my fees, a caring copy-editor does it for love of the written word.

I'm i. Pennsylvania, in the United States. I was trained for a job that I got in 1982 and did for about 11 years. I was proofreading before that, but that's when I got the professional training.

Carol, I am looking for an experienced editor to polish the first book of a trilogy which i have just completed. The genre is fiction, thriller with strong female characters. The books is set in the mediterranean, Israel and US.
