SOLVED. President who is really 7 Clones - one is killed [s]

I read an adult political thriller in the late 70s or early 80s in which the President is killed but the murder is covered up because there are six more clones to carry on. The President is actually 7 cloned brothers, each educated/trained in different specialties so that "he" was a more well-rounded candidate. When one is killed, his murder is covered up. But someone knows the secret. I think others are killed off one by one. I don't think this is Joshua, Son of None, a recommendation on another discussion here, but I have requested that through my public library to check for sure.
