"Clothing retailer Lands’ End recently launched its Legend Series, profiling women and men who have “made a difference in both their respective industries and the world at large." The company’s CEO, Federica Marchionni, interviewed Ms. cofounder Gloria Steinem, highlighting the founding of Ms. and Steinem’s support for the Equal Rights Amendment, among her many other achievements.

When anti-abortion bullies got wind of the feature, however, they turned on Lands’ End — bullying the company and threatening to boycott, until Marchionni issued an apology for running the profile and pulled it from Lands’ End’s website.

Tell Lands’ End not to give in to anti-abortion pressure!

Join us in telling Lands’ End to reinstate Steinem’s profile. And, since an apology was never necessary, tell Lands’ End to retract its statement and stand strong in its decision to feature a woman who has spent decades fighting for women’s and girls’ empowerment."

For women’s equality,

Katherine Spillar
Executive Editor, Ms.

Gayle Kimball (gaylekimball) Here's another clictivist action, better than silence. This is from UNICEF:
Female genital mutilation, defined as cutting or removing part of the female genital organs for non-medical reasons, has zero health benefits, and can result in death.

At least 200 million women and girls alive today have suffered this violent and intrusive practice. But we can stop this: Research shows we can end FGM in one generation through education, partnerships, and empowerment.

We need your help to show world leaders that we care about protecting women and girls before more are subjected to this violent and senseless practice.

Take the pledge. Join us. Every signature will trigger a $1 donation to help UNICEF fight for the world’s most vulnerable children.
