Karin | 9252 comments Welcome, Glenlady! I've really enjoyed pbt, and hope you do, too.

Since my mother's family comes from a country with a recorded genealogy that dates back prior to 1000 AD, I have always found genealogy faschinating. (she grew up bilingual but in Canada).

Did your Mennonite ancestors make their way through Russia? Just curious. My Dad's background is Mennonite, as well, and he thinks his came via that route. I've not done any research myself, but Dad has done some.

Viji | 61 comments Hi,

This is Viji from India. I like Historical Fiction, Mysteries and Thrillers, Literary Fiction. Recently started reading Fantasy also.
Not good in posting reviews but love to read reviews. Like to find good books to read.

Thanks.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8446 comments Welcome, Viji ... You'll find LOTS of reviews to read here! And you might not be able to help yourself about writing / posting a review. We won't bite!

Welcome, Viji!!! You'll find many people here who share a love of those same genres (I'm a literary fiction girl myself!). And you will be inundated with reviews to read, lol.

This month we will be reading fantasy books, so hopefully you will find some good ones to check out!

message 259: by annapi (new)

annapi | 5505 comments Hi Viji, welcome! Like you, I wasn't much for reviewing before, but I got into the habit with this group since each review for the tag of the month is a raffle entry (up to 5) for the $15 Amazon gift card! And now it's just become a habit.

Regardless, you will get lots of good recommendations here and your TBR will grow, I guarantee it!

message 260: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 3525 comments Welcome, Viji! This is definitely the group that will help you find those good books to read that you are looking for.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 5 comments Hi everyone new to the group and fellow Shelfari refugees. I'm Christina T and although my participation has always been off again on again with PBT I did really enjoy this group on Shelfari. Sorry it took so long to join in on GR but my reading so far this year has been horribly low and my online time was even less. I totally blame Netflix and Hulu. Oh and I'm still trying to get used to my new Grave shift hours (8 months....still sucking LOL).

I'm off to check out the June tag...or in GR terms...shelf (I like tag better to tell the truth!)

message 262: by Viji (new)

Viji | 61 comments Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to reading good books.

p.s. ugh on the graveyard shift. how do you do it?

Karin | 9252 comments Hello and welcome Viji and Christina!

message 265: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12953 comments So glad to see you again, Christina! I love how this is the group that is bringing all of the Shelfarians back! And some lovely new people that I never might have met. But of course, you said the magic words to entice me (tv), because while I read about 60 books a year, I am a secret tv addict, and I am curious what you are watching on hulu and netflicks. For anyone that would care, the recent devastation is that CBS had the absolute audacity to cancel Limitless, which was a brilliant engaging show. Funny, smart, cleaver, even light, but totally fascinating and thought provoking at the same time. I could tell you about other cancellations and what not, but this one was a deep loss as far as I am concerned.

On the reading front, I look forward to reading your reviews and "hanging out," (in the literary and internet sort of way we all do.) Welcome - Amy

message 266: by Christina T (last edited May 26, 2016 08:24PM) (new)

Christina T (crysteena73) | 5 comments @Amy--I'll have to check out Limitless. I hate when they cancel shows I love. Because of my schedule (8pm-6:30am) not only do I miss out on sleeping in the dark but I miss pretty much everything on prime time TV. I try to get caught up on my 3 day weekend (love 3 day weekends!) Let's see, on Netflix I've binge watched almost 10 full seasons of Criminal Minds. I think I have half of season 10 left. On Hulu I have been trying to finish up CSI. It wasn't offered on Netflix streaming so I've been stuck on season 12 or something. Even before I was on Graves I was on Swing shift so I still wasn't able to watch evening shows. I've never invested in a DVR which makes it hard to keep current. On Amazon Prime I've been watching Grimm and Doctor Who. Oh on Hulu I've been watching the newer shows Second Chance and Lucifer. I really love Lucifer. He's delicious LOL. On Netflix my mom and I have been trying to get all of Once Upon a Time done but we're only up to season 4. On Hulu I've been waiting for them to put the new episodes of Fear the Walking Dead but it doesn't look like they are going to. They had the first 8 episodes before their hiatus but since it's been back on...nothing. Hulu doesn't have The Walking Dead though....so weird. I have to wait until Netflix gets the season the just ended up which might not be until Sept. Strangely enough, Netflix doesn't have Fear the Walking Dead. One downfall of Hulu in my eyes is that the most current season of something they often only have seven or eight episodes so when it gets to nine they take away the first episode and when they post episode ten they take way episode 2, if you get my meaning. I recently watched season one of iZombie on Netflix (which I loved but not surprising since it was created by the same guy who did Veronica Mars) and was excited to see season two was on Hulu....wrong. Only episodes 9 and up were on Hulu. Darn!

Ok enough about that. I could go on and on (because my television interests are vast and all over the place) but thanks for the welcome to you and Anita and Karin. So good to "see" you all! I look forward to Playing Book Tag with you all!

Sunday Reynolds | 6 comments Hello everyone!

My name is Sunday and I happened to find this group when I was trying to find the Popsugar challenge board. I enjoy reading Historical Fiction and Non-Fiction, Fantasy, Dystopian, and I have a few comedian written memoirs, I guess you can say on my list. My list gets longer and longer.

I do have a goal to read the classic books. Such as Treasure Island, The Call of the Wild, and so on.

Welcome!!! Hey, given your moniker, I read an early advance copy of a new nonfiction book that may or may not be up your alley now, called Triathlon 2.0: Data-Driven Performance Training this spring.

Be prepared to have your tbr expand greatly and enjoy!

message 283: by Anita (new)

Anita Pomerantz | 9301 comments Andrew, you found us! Welcome!!!

Andrew and I met when our sons competed in national chess tournaments. His son was a true champion. Mine was just having fun. But we spent many hours waiting for them to finish their games, and yet I don't think we discovered our shared love of books until much, much later . . .not the same books though!!
