Who else finds Dave's feelings for Julia adorable? What do you guys think of Brett? What do you like about him or what do you not like about him?
Okay, so I've never been to an alcohol high school party, so I've always wondered if the stuff that Adi wrote actually happens. Heck, I was never a big high school party girl, I would rather have a book to read... I guess I would be like Gretchen.
Who else loves that Julia has two dads? Oh, and what are you feelings on Dave's growing fascination with Gretchen? Do you like how he's finally having a crush on someone other than Julia? Do you feel like Julia will ever be able to feel the same for Dave that he feels for her? So, do you agree that maybe it's for the best that he seems to be falling for Gretchen? Also what is up with Julia wanting to sleep with her teacher? And how clueless can she be? How can she not know about Dave's feelings for her? I mean, heck, when I had a crush on my guy best friend, he always found out about my feelings! Maybe Dave's is better at hiding it than I ever was.
Okay, so at the very end of the hundred pages, we actually get to meet Julia's mom. What are your thoughts on her?

I've never done a list like this but it definitely seems like it would be a lot of fun. It's great to hear you're enjoying the book so far!
From experience I can confirm that some high school parties are like that! Ahah. Not all but they for sure exist! So far my favourite character is Gretchen! She's so straight forward to Dave and even though we haven't seen a lot of her, she's my favourite.
I love that Julia has two dads. They haven't appearing much in the story, so far, but I can't wait to read more about them. I want Dave and Gretchen's friendship to progress! I think they're super cute together. Is Julia clueless or is she ignoring that fact that Dave has feelings for her? Is having a platonic friendships that rare? I think that's why I really enjoy reading about platonic friendships from time to time, they're so rare.
WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? She's so obsessed about sleeping with her teacher.. Gross!
I don't like Julia's mom very much, I don't feel she's genuinely interested in Julia. How do you feel about her?

I love Gretchen!!!! And I do hope that maybe something will end up happening between Dave and her. I feel like their relationship will be much easier then if Dave and Julia get together. Neither one of their family has been in the book much. We've seen Brett a tad bit more than anyone else, but it does seem that Julia's dad kind of just let her be free to do whatever she wants. Also, what parents allow their teenage daughter's best guy friend spend the night? I really feel like both of their parents are kind of hands off when it comes to their kids. It could just be a California thing...
I really want to say that Julia has to know about Dave's feelings because no one is that clueless when it comes to their best friend being in love with them. But then again, in Dawson's Creek (I don't know if you ever watched that show), Dawson had no idea that Joey was in love with him until the very end of the first season. This book is, I believe, the first book I've read that was a platonic friendship and that one of them is in love with the other. But who knows, maybe Julia has feelings for him as well but she doesn't want to ruin the friendship... That would be a tricky love triangle if Adi does that in the story.
I have no idea why she wants to sleep with him! He's a middle age teacher from what I understand. I could kind of picture it if he was in like his 20's, but other than that, I can't see it! When I was in high school, all of my girl friends (or really the whole female student body) was in love with a few of our young male teachers but as far as I know, none of us ever wanted to sleep with them!
I'm not really sure about Julia's mom. She does seem to love her daughter but not as much as Julia's wants... Julia's mom is an interesting character that I want to try and get to know a tad bit more. but what really grinds my gears about her mom is that she doesn't want to come see her daughter graduate! Like, that's messed up! Finishing high school is an accomplishment that her mom should care about. Also, it seems that Julia tries to hard when it comes to her mom... Like the whole Never list was only written because she thought her mom would approve.

I've noticed it's more comment if the friendships are from childhood and they grow up with each other that sleepovers actually continue to happen. I'm surprised they didn't grow apart, which is what happens to a lot of childhood friends once they start high school. But I suppose since both characters were innocent with no sort of attraction to one another, parents don't always think about when they get older? Maybe? It may be a Cali thing... I would love to visit Cali, beaches and all!
I haven't watched Dawson's Creek in order, I would watch the episodes randomly!! Ahah. But I can imagine the gist of it. Yes, it would be tricky for both characters if there's a love triangle. If you want to read a book with a platonic friendship, I would suggest, Trouble by Non Pratt. I enjoyed it and it was nice for a change to read about a platonic friendship between teenagers!
It's hard to believe that these characters would know how life damaging it is for a high school teacher to have rumours of dating or any sexual situation with a student. Right! I'll admit there was one teacher but it was never a full on pursuit to sleep with the guy! That's just weird!
That bothered me too! Julia's mom could care less about her daughters graduation. She thought it would be too boring and why bother! I feel it's a things kids go through, possibly to change her mothers mind and choose to stay close for once? I can imagine how hard it must be for Julia, especially since it was her mothers choice to give her away since she prefer the adventure instead of raising her.

The idea of the list is interesting. Since Dave and Julia were so secluded from the entire school I think it was a great way to get them out there before the year ended.
