Brittany (storyofmyreadinglife) | 43 comments Well I just finished Stars Above.... :D My heart is happy now.

I'm almost done The Naturals, which is totally a YA version of Criminal Minds. So I like it!

Spirit of Wonderland Reviews (spiritofwonderlandreviews) | 13 comments Starting The Hunter's Moon tonight, and going to have it finished by tomorrow (review deadline, lol). Hoping it's good though! :D

Karin Only one y/a, a sequel:

Into the Shadows

message 5: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rgag86) | 36 comments I haven't been reading as much lately because I've been sucked into video games haha, but I'm still reading Career of Evil by Galbraith/Rowling and I have about 20 graphic novels checked out! eep! Finished Squirrel Girl vol. 2 last night!

message 6: by Erin (new)

Erin St. James | 16 comments I've been reading The 5th Wave. Honestly, I'm not all that impressed so far. Cassie and Evan's relationship is just too melodramatic for my taste.

Also, I'm reading Frankenstein for my last English class in grad school. Wow is it different from anything I've ever seen in Frankenstein movies!

I haven't read Fairest. I don't care about Levana so I didn't read it :P

message 10: by Racheal (new)

Racheal (otherworldlyreader) | 143 comments I reread Princess of Thornes by Stacey Jay and plan to start The Siren by Kiera Cass. I ordered The Stars Above by Marissa Meyer and Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman, so hopefully I can start those soon as well!

I don't care much about Levana, either, but decided to read it anyway, since it will help with a reading challenge.

It was sort of a love/hate relationship for me. I loved the characters as people but I am NOT into books with those paranormal characters like wights, etc., so I'm going to give it 3 stars when I rate it. That said, i want to read the next one because, as I said, I love the people in it and want to know what happens to them.

Plus, I love photography and photographs, and the ones in the books with their old school special effects are marvelous.

So happy to hear it's not just me.

I'm currently saving up for good camera with Amazon points, Christmas money, etc. I want a Nikon 7100 to replace my old film SLR that will allow me to do what I want with it. I don't do artistic photography, used to do a LOT of candid photography.

Me too! I love candid shots and I'm always walking around with my camera. I have a Nikon D50 that I've had for several years and love taking pics. My family thinks I'm so weird - the first thing I do when we get home from a trip is to plug in my phone and get to work on my pics - laundry and everything else can wait...lol!

Excellent. I'm justifying this to my husband by telling him I'll take our younger two's graduation photos and later publicity photos (they want to be professional musicians) but he remains skeptical. But then I tell him I practice the guitar I bought last year almost every day, so I do use the things I save up for. But it doesn't matter, we've always spent our separate gift money any way we like. He likes old bottles (the less expensive ones), I like books but can use the library, so I save for other things.

I know!!! I need more!!! This has been the best book I've read in a while!! Love these characters!

message 32: by Karin (new)

Karin I finished Fairest and gave it three stars, because it proves that I was right to dislike everything about Levana. The audiobook reader did an excellent job.

message 33: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Chant (cchant) I'm currently reading (well, listening--audiobook) Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden. Not a new book, but a new-to-me book. Looks like it's the start of an 7-book series. I discovered it through an Audible sale earlier this month. I'm about halfway through, I think, and it's pretty good!

Linda (lindajoy8) | 72 comments I've finally gotten busy reading again. I've finished Secret Coders by Yang, and Drowned City:... both graphic novels. Also Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes.
Now I'm reading Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown and The Great Greene Heist by Varian Johnson.

message 35: by Racheal (new)

Racheal (otherworldlyreader) | 143 comments This month has been so busy! But I'm finally getting around to Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman and so far its an okay read. I plan to read through Stars Above by Marissa Meyer next.
