Pride and Prejudice
question
The Language

I love the language in Pride and Prejudice. It reminds me of a lot of old writers and their texts. My favourite character would have to be Mr. Darcy.

Well it IS an old book, ergo the language in the prose was appropriate for it's era and audience.
The language is definitely very eloquent and I think it really suits the novel. I love every word used.
Love the language. It was tricky to get used to though! Austen uses long sentences (I counted 52 words once!), but it just makes the reading-experience more "real" - kind of feels like Austen is sitting next to you reading; too excited to use dots!
