Hannah | 63 comments I loved The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks! Skloot finds the perfect balance of science and the Lacks family's story.

Marie (marielapilla) | 4 comments Just finished All The Bright Places (fantastic) and picked up Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson this evening at the library.

Victoria (vicki_c) | 367 comments I'm not a big YA reader, but All the Bright Places was one of the best books I read last year.

Marion Hill (kammbia1) I'm about halfway through Station Eleven. If there's such a thing as a understated and genteel post-apocalyptic novel, than this book fits the description.

Here's a question for those of you have read this novel: Will art (in any of its forms) be the only thing to survive in a post apocalyptic setting? If so, why would it be?

Hannah | 63 comments Just read As You Wish by Cary Elwes with Joe Layden. If you like the movie The Princess Bride, this gives so much background information about the movie and the people who made it happen--really fun read!

message 107: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 66 comments Finishing up February reading Ghettoside: A True Story of Murder in America and listening to what I think is Ivan Doig's last book, Last Bus to Wisdom. I'll miss him. Next up is Under the Udala Trees. I read The Grownup and liked it a lot. Short but very surprising. I can't seem to make a dent in my TBR pile.

I just finished listening to Furiously Happy, IT.IS.HYSTERICAL. I hope the written version is as funny but the audio was great.

The audio version is definitely worth listening to - narrated by Elwes and lots of guests that you will recognize ;)

I actually listened to the audio version, too! And yes, it was fantastic. I loved the input from all of the different cast and crew members (kind of reminded me of the audio version of Yes, Please by Amy Poehler with the short interviews). And I just generally feel that authors who narrate their own books have a better connection to it.

message 114: by Terry (new)

Terry (mistyks) I am almost finished. I am reading Some Luck by Jane Smiley for our book discussion next Sunday afternoon.
