I barely got to read last night, but I was able to read through Ch. 3 LOL

I agree that the girls (view spoiler)[ have a proclivity to be mean. I haven't gotten too far into that, but I have a feeling now that the list is up more meanness will come out. (hide spoiler)]

Bette (view spoiler)[totally thought she had the major part, but I thought it was an easy prediction that she wouldn't and that Gigi would. (hide spoiler)]

Gigi (view spoiler)[ seems to me so far like she'd be okay/respectful even if she got the worst part. I do think that parts given to a person due to their culture/ethnicity can be powerful; however, that shouldn't usually be the main reason for casting a part. (hide spoiler)]

June - I can't lie, I'm really mad - after knowing she passed out and was so underweight - that she still got to perform (hide spoiler)]

think of how much he manipulated everyone
he manipulated Will for the secret about Bette
he tried to kiss Gigi, but when he couldn't get her that way - he used Bette and HER secret he got from Will to manipulate HER into really losing it (she started taking more pills and her dance started to suffer which made her lose more focus and made her obsess over Alec and become a really awful person)

I think Gigi was just one more final way to get at Bette and blame it on her (hide spoiler)]

I think(view spoiler)[ worst of all in Gigi. She was literally collateral damage. June just wanted the spot and Bette was cruel but never actually violent

and Henri just needed a way to blame it on Bette - it didn't have to be Gigi.....it just...was.

You're right! The girls (view spoiler)[are AWFUL!!! But I get why...their mothers!!! They are horrible women who've put terrible pressure on their daughters. I couldn't believe Bette and June's mothers. Ugh! (hide spoiler)]

June (view spoiler)[ should not have gotten to dance, I agree. She definitely should have been held to the weight standards, just like boxers who are so strictly held to weight standards for their own weight category. It just isn't right and promotes unhealthy habits. (hide spoiler)]

What do you think happened at the end? I was a bit confused and since I had to listen to the last 10-15 chapters on audiobook I couldn't go back and look. I was confused when June said (at least I think it was her) that she was (view spoiler)[Giselle's ghost and that Alec went to her graveside, something like that. The Cas got the spotlight? Can you explain the last chapter to me more clearly, if you remember. Otherwise I'm going to have to try to go to B&N and see if I can read it. (hide spoiler)]
