I loved The Emperor's Soul and another short by him Sixth of the Dusk, oh and Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. Pretty much everything I've read by him is amazing.

Completely agree, Helen, and the best thing is that I can rarely ever guess what will happen in his books, he always manages to surprise me, even after having read 11 books by him.
I haven't read Sixth of the Dusk or Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell yet, but I see that those are Cosmere novels. Have you read Mistborn: Secret History yet?
No, I've read the first four of those. I love the way his stories are so detailed and contained whether it's 100 pages or 1000.
Finished Those Who Hunt the Night. Rated it a four Star. I really liked this book. There are so many "bad" vampire books out there it’s really nice to read a good one. The story had elements of horror, fantasy, and steampunk. The main character James Asher is like a cross between James Bond and Van Helsing. Really loved the mystery, and plot twists and I loved Lydia Asher but I wished she would have been more involved in the book. Finally, loved the Frankenstein-esque twist at the end of the book. Overall, these vampires are killers, there are no glittery, loving types in this book. But for those who appreciate this type of vampire book I would highly recommend it. Starting The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge.

Will probably then jump into The Great Hunt - Robert Jordan to continue my WoT read

Will probably then jump int..."
Love Ilona Andrews such entertaining reading.

Love the series :)
Recently finished with The Complete Tawny Man Trilogy: Fool's Errand, The Golden Fool, Fool's Fate and I was totally hooked, impressive!!

Very cool! I may have to revist Hobb's work one of these days. I'd read her Assassin trilogy, and though I loved the first book, the last two left me feeling high and dry. Mind you that was many years ago now, might have a different opinion if I read them now.

Now I'm reading The Magic Mines of Asharim, standalone epic fantasy (with romantic elements) in Pauline Ross's Brightmoon Annals. Enjoying it very much, as I do all her books. I'm also dipping into some classic westerns by Zane Grey, Max Brand, and others, for some research (and because they're fun).

Thanks for the recommendation. I really didn't care for City of Stairs. I know a lot of people liked the book but I can honestly say that I didn't get it. Maybe, just maybe I'll give City of Blades a chance. I just hate to add another book to my ever growing TBR list. I did say maybe. ;)

Looks like the sequel to Forge of Darkness is coming out soon too!

Loved this too.
Loved this too.

Ah, the Dragon Keeper is totally unrelated, there are new characters? I'm ambivalent about this part of the series because I liked the The Liveship traders, but I didn't love it. I absolutely want to read The Fitz and the Fool, and I wonder, can I safely skip the Rain Wild Chronicles series? Or, on the other hand, is it worth a try?

@ Alissa - I would read the Rainwild Chronicles before reading The Fitz and the Fool. The two inter-connect and it will definitely help to understand some characters and events if you've read the Chronicles. I enjoyed the Chronicles, although there are definitely some flaws, it was also an interesting view on the way dragons think (and I love dragons! lol) as well as providing more information about the Elderlings and their relationship with the dragons.

I loved Cinder. I went into it not expecting much, because the YA I've read lately has been really hit-and-miss, but I was surprised by how good it was!
I've already started Gardens of the Moon for the group read, because I'm fairly certain it'll take me more than a month to read it! I've actually read it before, a few years ago, and I'm surprised how much of it I've remembered. And as Kyra mentioned above, they're much easier books to read in ebook, as I'm finding with a lot of epic fantasy these days. My paperback is staying firmly on the shelf this time!

Thanks Helen and Jingizu for the advice, I'll stick to publication order then. Hobb is rapidly becoming a new favorite of mine. In the meanwhile, I've read Sunset Mantle, a very interesting novella with a mature protagonist and a lush storytelling, both sad and hopeful.
Now I'm currently reading Jurgen and I'm enjoying it very much, it's comic fantasy with a lot of literary references, which I'm missing for the most part, but it's totally captivating.

Almost done with The Black Company - Glen Cook. Was hoping for a little more bad-assness since it was an inspiration for Erikson's Malazan. Having said that, I'm still enjoying it. Like the idea of one man of a mercenary group keeping records of their battles and travels.

I'm excited to follow along with the threads in group, really liked the book even though it took some getting used to. The series became my favorite I've read by the end of it

I didn't really enjoy his later Midkemia books that much. Not enough to reread anyway.
