I did read the book several years ago when I was on train without wi-fi. I liked the broad range of topics covered and the general tone of hopefulness about making change. I also enjoyed the stories of various people in the graduate edition. I generally encourage everyone to read the later edition with these great supporting voices.
Since this book came out, I have also encouraged people to read Necessary Dreams by Anna Fels, The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane and Confidence Code by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman.
I read the book a couple of years ago. I loved it and learned quite a bit. However, I'm sometimes reluctant to share it because I personally found myself angry at a few points. Where the book was suggesting things to do that I knew would be impossible since I have almost no support within my work. I am the only one pushing ideas around women. I'm currently trying to find a womens group to join. Women in Management who have similar situations to mine. I am having trouble finding the right group.
