That's a good idea. I should do that too lol. It scares the shit out of me when I'm ready in bed... Alone in the dark!

Finished! The ending was a little weak but not so much it bothered me. I like Adam Nevill! His books (or at least the 2 that I've read) are actually scary.
I got a lot of reading time over the weekend and I'm almost done. Wow! This is definitely a very creepy book. I think I can see the point about the finish being a bit weaker than the buildup, but overall, it has been a hugely enjoyable book. And definitely agree on the water stains! :-)

This book is so amazingly scary. Think I'll be reading another one of his in the future! Almost done....
I'm finally getting this one started tonight and I'm determined to finish before the end of the month. I've stopped at the end of chapter 3 (about 79 pages). The first big thing just happened. I am in love with this book. It has been a long time since a boom has actually made my heart race, and I felt a tad bit of fear. I'm looking forward to continuing it tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm finding something a bit lighter to fit in before I sleep for the night.
I finally got my copy from the library today and started reading it right away. I'm on page 65 now and loving every bit of it. Very intriguing and creepy.

This one had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

I'm about 1/3 into the book and it's getting better and better. The scary parts are great, and I can't put the book down. Right now Kyle is at Max's place, and I'm getting anxious to go to America. I need to know what the spooky stains are!
Maria, just wait. You'll have a good idea soon enough :)I just stopped for the night at pg. 215 (about 40%). This book is crazy-awesome. I'm completely spooked by it, and love that. It's well written so far. I have a sneaky suspicion about Max, but I can't figure out the agenda quite yet.
Latasha wrote: "I'm at 64% or on page 329. I guess I'm sleeping with my lava lamp on tonight."Lava lamp, huh? LOL! I think you'll need one of Max's special lights. Just passed the half-way point. Getting intense. Not optimistic about the chances of any of these characters surviving the plot...
Home alone today.... Cleaning the house.... Keep getting spooked by the phantom "somethings" appearing in my peripheral vision.... I don't think we are safe reading this book at night or day. lolBut seriously, this is an interesting, suspenseful and creepy read. And those stains... omg... those stains. On page 202 now. Today are going to America, can't wait to see what happens there.

I've got about 50 pages left in the book. Stains, weird noises...you mean this isn't supposed to be normal? I thought EVERYBODY'S house had those, LOL!
Seriously, everybody appears to be in serious jeopardy. More than a little worried about Dan.
I just finished this book and am considering going out to buy a nightlight. No book has ever scared me the way this one has. Bravo, Adam Neville. Bravo. 5/5

This book has made me regret my weird sleep schedule in which I sleep at 10 pm, wake up at 3 am to work, sleep again at 1pm and wake up at 5pm. so much dark.
Finished it. Wow. 5/5. And I'm a little jumpy right now... lol This was a superb reading. Well written, great story, one of my favourites.
I finished it yesterday and it was good! Don't know how I feel about the ending. But things wrapped up nicely and everybody got what they deserved. I had trouble liking the way Adam writes though, I don't know why but it kept irritating me. It wasn't flowing very well. I didn't like the characters very much neither, and didn't care very much about if they lived or died. But overall, a good, spooky book. 3/5.
