Hello fellow authors, maybe some of you can enlighten me. My second book just launched in paperback on Amazon in December (Year of the Cat: The Thirteenth Realm) . I've sold a dozen or so through Createspace, but I just went in and looked at my book today and noticed how all these online bargain book companies claim they have "new" copies of my book for sale for $5.00. How is that possible? Do I make any money from the bargain bin sales? How is an author suppose to make any $$ their books?

You selected to have third parties (bookstores/libraries) sale your books through Createspace. Createspace lets them buy your book for under $1 and you get squat; maybe 25 cents. Then they turn around and resale.UNCHECK the option to allow bookstores/libraries to sale your book and those will go away.
That's a bad deal for writers as we make under a dollar for those sales.
@Kendi yes you do. The sellers order your book from createspace. What you would find is that even though they appear to offer your book at a cheaper price, their delivery charge is normally higher than normal. That's how they make up the difference.
