I still don't know what plugins are or what they're for, quite honestly. They sounded very useful when I was researching Wordpress, but now that I have a web site there I'm just sort of confused.

I am trying to develop a book blogging website and I am having so much trouble setting it up! I downloaded the ultimate book blogger plugin but it still doesn't have the setup that I want! I just want a simple website. I want to be able to build it up on my own and I don't know if I have any money to hire a web developer. Any advice on useful resources to build a wordpress site. I want a simple site that has tabs like book reviews a-z, giveaways, book boyfriends, favorite books etc. Super simple tabs!
