Paolo Caracciolo | 199 comments Can someone explain to me why the following series
https://www.goodreads.com/series/1043...
does not appear under the related GoodReads Author?
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/series/list...

I am pretty sure it was there in the past along with the follow-up
https://www.goodreads.com/series/1626...
but somehow inexplicably disappeared

Thank you

Z-squared | 8575 comments Probably because of the weird way it's now numbered. Messing with #1 in a series page often leads to display errors. Are you certain A Dubious Mission and its revised edition shouldn't be merged? Usually Rivka has been pretty adamant about combining expanded editions with their original in the past. And doing so might fix the series display problem, since the numbering would go back to something conventional-looking.

Z-squared | 8575 comments Just to test, I changed "15 (1 revised)" to "1", unchecked 'primary', and checked 'primary' on the first version of #1. Voila, now it's appearing on the author's series page again.

Paolo Caracciolo | 199 comments Thank you. Z-squared!
The "weird way" is taken directly from the author's web page. I have just added the "in brackets" numbers and reordered the series as it should be read. For this reason, the revised/expanded book #1 was listed as book #15. It is a matter of wether we should follow the author's numbering or keep the series in order as per GoodReads rules. For me the latter is better.
Sorry if my English is not perfect.
Matter closed for me. Bye.

Z-squared | 8575 comments Sorry to disagree. Unforunately, the numbering scheme you used is against GR policy and messes up the series display, as I demonstrated by temporarily changing the 15 (1 revised) to 1.

I just checked out the author's website -- there's no numbering scheme there matching what you've described. Perhaps he's changed it since you last looked? Book "15 (revised 1)" on Amazon is pretty clearly listed as "Colton Banyon Mysteries Book 1".

I've combined the revised edition with the original, marked the new ones as revised, and left a note with instructions for the author to follow if he ever sees it and wishes to make it the default. I've also revised the series numbering of the omnibus editions to be in accordance with GR rules, which is also consistent with the numberless-listing of these books on the author's own webpage (as of today, anyway).
