Hera: *surprised, suspicious* And why would you want to assist me, Subject Uniform? It has been noted that most subjects avoid us scientists, especially me.
Uniform; {frowns slightly, the corners of his lips barely crooking down} Why would I not, Ma'am? Not only are emotions generally just a weakness that an opponent can use against you, but being able to help one of the scientists to achieve an experiment of that magnitude would be an honor. {frown deepens} And frankly, I've never been able to understand my fellow subjects' unease around the scientists. {realizes he was frowning and immediately smooths out his expression}
Hera: *stands, folds arms, studies cautiously* I believe I can complete the task on my own, but if you wish, you can be the one I call on as an assistant where it is required.
Hera: *not wanting to seem soft* There is no need to thank me, this is merely a task for you and not a privilege or reward, Subject.
Uniform; {looks puzzled} I know, Ma'am... {tilts his head slightly to the right} Do you give out some tasks as privileges or rewards?
Sugar: *frowns as Hephaestus pushes her finger away and then scoots closer to look at the book* Huh... That's weird. Why would anyone volunteer for that? Or were they forced to? I couldn't imagine someone happily playing dress up and then being killed and being cool with that. *says exaggeratedly raising an eyebrow*
Hephaestus; {glances up at Sugar with an excited smile} In those times, it was actually considered a great honor.
Zeus: ~crouches in front of Hephaestus~ it was also considered blaspheme by some ~covers his eyes~ the eyes see what the heart can not feel
Hephaestus; {nods} Of course that's true, but the same could be said for anything, really. Most of the modern forms of medicinal practice that goes on in this age would have been considered blaspheme by people in past centuries.{ignores Zeus's later comment}
Zeus:~Continues to open and cover eyes.~ Fear is what kept them in from saying so. ~Falls back screaming~ MY HEAD HURTS
Sugar: *quizzical look* But... why? 'Oh please, kill me! It's such a great honor!' *giggles and shakes her head* I just don't get it. *blinks at Zeus* Um... are you okay? *pokes Zeus' shoulder*
No one in particular; FINALLY! I got on a normal computer! {huffs in utter relief} I was about ready to throw a can of food at the next person to walk by... But I'm apparently just about to go.Hephaestus; {looks back over at Sugar and smiles} Their afterlife system was unique from almost every other society... Those who died in battle or from being sacrifices were supposedly destined for the best type of paradise... while people who died of old age, illnesses or an otherwise unremarkable death went to a far less enjoyable afterlife.
Me: Yay! :D That's awesome! But now you're leaving! Boo! xDSugar: *edges away from Zeus slightly and looks over at Hephaestus* Huh. I s'pose that does sound pretty nice... Though I suppose you would have a lot of people trying to die on purpose during battles. *thoughtfully* Or what about your family? They wouldn't be with you, would they? That would suck.
No one in particular; I've got to go, but I'll be on again tomorrow... bye!('Good') William; {waves at No one in particular} Bye!
Hephaestus; {nods and smiles wryly} It's true that that was one of their less well thought out beliefs; they slaughtered hundreds of thousands of not only their enemies for sacrifices but also each other... along with with the lives that were lost when they attacked other countries. But no civilization is completely perfect...
Me: BaiiiiiiSugar: That's a bit of an understatement! *laughs and shakes head* I suppose no civilization is, but that was a tad bit of overkill, don't'cha think?
Hera: Well, hindsight is 20-20. Speaking of which, would like to work with me on something? I intend to once again try to eradicate emotions.
Hera: Fear is an unnecessary emotion easily ignored and easy to move past. Besides, what is there to fear on the island? I'm in control of what's inside the island. And I know I have you, Poseidon, and Xerxes to help me. So there's nothing for me to fear.
Zeus: Shh... it's alright to afraid, you fear lose of control as you should you fear failure as we all do yet go deeper into the subject you fear yourself ME: so where to roleplay where to roleplay
Hera: *uneasy, glares* It is normal to have fear, it is only foolish to let fear control you. However.... you are my brother and I love you. But Zeus, do not pretend to know me as well as you say you do, you don't know what I fear.
Me: I have Hera open.
Me: I have Hera open.
Hephaestus; {shrugs again} The past is the past... We can't change it; we can only learn from our predecessors' mistakes... or successes, and try to do better. {taps book mindlessly for a moment before flipping through the pages and running a finger down until he gets to a specific paragraph.} At least they tried to keep up the population with that same belief... Women who died in childbirth were believed to go to the exact same paradise as the warriors and sacrifices. However, that's about the only way that I've found that they get to their paradise... Apparently, the Aztecs weren't exactly the picture of feminists... {gets distracted}It's rather amazing that the earliest known religions that you can find usually seemed to worship the 'Great Mother' for quite a while... It was actually awhile after people began to plant crops. Until they were able to stay in one place, women were very important for the continued survival of the race of human beings; the men were being killed almost daily by multiple causes, so the only way to continue being around was to keep a continual supply of backups on hand... so to speak. Once the population was able to grow with less dangers, the men quickly became the more important of the species... especially when fights over land, food and water began to arise. With the rise of male leaders, the weaker females were thrown behind them to play second fiddle.
They- {cuts himself off, blinking as something occurs to him}
{turns to look at Sugar} You were making a joke, weren't you...
Kilo: Oh god you're here still? *At Zeus* You know there are much nicer ways to turn a girl down but zapping her with a little DNA zapper isn't one of them Zuzu
Queen: Friends are always good.
You know, usually friends do favors for each other. You could do me a favor, couldn't you?
You know, usually friends do favors for each other. You could do me a favor, couldn't you?
Queen: Well, I mean, I was used to certain things before I came here. Now I'm not used to being without those things. You could get those things for me, couldn't you?
....please?...
....please?...

{pulls out a small notebook from pocket and jots down notes}
I wonder if they ever enjoyed killing their 'gods', even if it was just a stand in. Hmm...
Uniform; {sighs, feeling slightly relieved}
{eyes widen as he hears Hera's last comment}
{teen begins staring at Hera in utter adoration, a small smile flickering across his features before they return to their normal polite mask} That sounds like an admirable goal, Ma'am... Would you need any help with that?
('Good') William; {wanders in and immediately smiles cheerfully at everyone present} Hello, everyone!
