Thanks : The Genius of Birds Jennifer Ackerman eBook

Recommended on April 26, 2017

My fab State Library Of Queensland facility has once again enable me to list a book recommended by someone.. Might take a while, but it's always worth the wait. It's winter starting down south, so we now have SOOOO many birds coming north to our Tropical North Queensland. There have been over 400 different species logged, here in Greenvale.

Denizen (den13) | 566 comments It does look like something I would enjoy.

Excellent review, Judith. Are there pictures? Do I need a DTB or would the ebook or audio book work?

I think there are some line drawings. It was a library book so I'm not completely sure. I know it had no photographs.

Goodness! I'm having enough trouble reading the news these days (while seemingly obsessed with it) I don't think I could handle a satire.

I have tried his other books, and given up, even his prize winners. Doubt I'll order this, but it was an hilarious interview!!

Story (storyheart) Anyone read any good thrillers lately? I'm in the mood for something like Gone Girl-- i.e. a psychological thriller without too much gore. Suggestions?

It has been a while since I read a thriller. Dark Matter reads like a thriller. It is pretty good. Also The One Man, a historical fiction about WWII, but reads like a thriller as well.

I've just enjoyed The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda. Faced paced and keeps the secret right to the end.

Story (storyheart) Sounds good, Lesley. Not too gory?

Not gratuitously I don't think. Enough to factually describe the crimes.

Story (storyheart) That's okay then!

I highly recommend The Miniaturist; very fast paced, girl has to grow up fast, every thing is FAST!!. Nearly finished, and this will be at least a 4 * possibly 5, if the ending satisfies.

Lesley Moseley | 717 comments See my mixed comments on The Good People.. almost didn't finish it, but it was worth doing. Very thought provoking , but superstition and it's control REALLY annoys me!!
