Hi all, I recently wrote this post about 7 Characters Your Protagonist Should Know and I was wondering if you had any to add? I love thinking about how characters can drive a story forward and would love your input (and to meet some new writers on this forum!)

I like this idea. It would be funny to see a book where the MC knows all 7 of these types. I think the 7 you chose would work for a murder mystery or thriller, but as someone who writes supernatural and fantasy, these characters wouldn't work.

You should make lists for different genres!

Haha. I wouldn't feel very confident writing a list for fantasy as I've never had the experience of writing one but I guess even in a fantasy world you need some kind of law-enforcement or authority? Some kind of spiritual advisor? Some people with medical expertise and there is likely to be wealth and a justice system of some nature, so I guess a few are transferable.

I think putting them all in one book might be humorous but not necessarily that realistic ;)
