It used to be one of the suggested texts for Years 7 or 8 in the Victorian English Syllabus way back in the 90's. Remember having to do journal entries as part of a lesson from the points of view of each character. Our teacher wanted to alter our handwriting as well as language and expression based on each character's 'level' of education.
