Adding a book pre-release?

This is probably a dumb question, but I searched and couldn't find the answer, so here it goes. I'm planning to release my debut novel in a few months. Since I haven't uploaded my book to Amazon yet (I read somewhere that you should wait until two weeks before launch to upload), my book currently doesn't have an ASIN/ISBN number. Does this mean I can't add my book to Goodreads until after the release? If I can add my book before, how would I go about this?

Again, I'm sorry if this is a silly question and thank you for your time. This is my first time self-publishing, so I appreciate any help I can get.
