Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Omg I'm so sorry for being missing, my life went kind of hectic in the last few weeks haha. The end of the semester at uni is upon me plus I got results back for this giant terrifying exam I sat in March and basically I meet the requirements to get into postgrad medicine so I'm trying to get all the applications done by May 31 when they're due! Chances of me getting in for next year are like 0.000001% but why not lol.

I think I've read a book for top shelves already, I'll log when I finish a book this week though!

Greta | 1459 comments Participation Book done :-)

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer

This has been a great series to read...just one book left and it's all done!

Maya (ferafaces) | 282 comments I'm not finding ANY books that have 2008 as a shelf on the first page :(

message 705: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Harry Potter?

message 706: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments I found when I was looking at books I'd read this month that some were shelved as 2008 enough for it to be on the first page even if they weren't released then lol, I think it was just people tagging that they read it then.

Thank you Greta!! :)

message 707: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Maya, it doesn't have to be the main page. Just click "see top shelves" and everything on that first page counts. If you were already doing that then disregard :-)

message 708: by Delitealex (new)

Delitealex | 3990 comments Read Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre 5/5
Tagged 2008

Could someone add this to the spreadsheet please

It is, haha. I found one. About to take another look just in case I can use a book for more than one thing

Okay I think I got everything updated. If I'm missing anything, please let me know! I finished The 5th Wave which I logged for my book this week - so much better than I thought it would be!!!

We're doing great this week - looks like we only need books from Jess, Lauri & Annika.

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1724 comments I'm off this long weekend -- woo-hoo! I don't go back to work till Wednesday. Nothing but reading and more reading! Well, and laundry. But we don't want to think about that, right?
Then I work Wed. & Thurs. then I'm off till June 13! Next weekend we're doing a stay-cation at the Sheraton on Waikiki Beach. So excited! I've already got my books picked out.... ;)

What is everybody else up to?

message 717: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 282 comments Woo! I'm going out of town right after you, and have ZERO idea what I'm taking yet!

message 718: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 1238 comments Lauri and Maya - Lucky you! I hope you enjoy all that time off and your vacations =)

I had my bridal shower yesterday. My maid of honor and bridesmaids did such an amazing job organizing and decorating the event. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Unfortunately, it's back to work for me tonight.

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5979 comments So jealous Lauri! Enjoy your time off! You too Maya!

That's great Laila about the shower. Too bad you have to work tonight though. Wedding is coming up soon right? How exciting for you :)

message 721: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Okay I haven't read a book yet, sorry to be the one who holds us up! I've got a really busy week again this week but I'll try my hardest to get it done by the end of the week :) to be honest I haven't even started one yet lol so I might strategically gravitate towards a quick book ;)

HA! Sometimes OCD comes in handy! Of course I picked books first, then swimsuits -- regular clothes can sort themselves out the day before!! I'm taking Takedown Twenty and Killer in High Heels! Mindless beach-type reading. 'Killer' will be my first book read on my iPad. I got it for free using the Kindle app. So excited!

Takedown Twenty (Stephanie Plum, #20) by Janet Evanovich Killer in High Heels (High Heels, #2) by Gemma Halliday

Wow, sounds fabulous, Lauri! Did you get as much reading done as you wanted?

We went to our camper which is about 30 minutes from our house and at a great lake. We had family over and a really nice weekend. It did rain most of Saturday, but that was fine...we played board games and it was still great! I had just ordered the card game Mille Bornes, which I loved as a child, and both my 7 and 5 year old boys thought it was the best game! The weather was great Saturday evening through the rest of the weekend.

I'm glad your shower was a great one! What a special time! Do you have many wedding preparations left or have you got most things planned already?

message 727: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Jess, I hope you can squeeze in some reading but if not, no worries!! We are in no rush...that just means we get to see more sights at this stop, right?! :D

message 728: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments I have completed Vampires in the Lemon Grove by Karen Russell which is 1.6 pounds for Amazon hardcover. What an imagination that author has.

Maya, I thought you might like those stories. I only rated it a 3 but really the stories were very unique and the author does have a good sense of humor about things. It was definitely worth reading!

message 729: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 282 comments I'm not usually the world's biggest anthology fan, but because you suggested it, it's on my TBR :)

message 730: by Maya (new)

Maya (ferafaces) | 282 comments Finished Big Little Lies which also has a ship weight of 1.6lbs! 5 stars

Yup! The wedding is less than 3 months away!

Greta - We've got most of the big things out of the way. Like booking the venue and photographer. The biggest thing I still have to do is send the wedding invites out. Otherwise it's just little details like deciding on table centerpieces and buying presents for the bridal party. Next week is the cake tasting. I am so excited for that!

Maya (ferafaces) | 282 comments I like that thought process! :D

message 735: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments I finished The Plague by Philip Wooderson. I scrolled through like 6 pages in the add book tab on my iPad and it still didn't show up so I gave up lol. I've had it on my bookshelf for 6 years! It was only all right lol. Cool concept, but it kind of lost steam in the second half.

message 736: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Great job, Jess. That's strange it didn't show up...did you add the author name in the search?

message 737: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments We must be close now to moving on, right? :-)

message 738: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5979 comments Updated! And everyone has finished their books so we are moving on yay!!!!!

message 739: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5979 comments Welcome to Stop #6: Enontekio

Task for this week is: Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as adult - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable

BUT it looks like everyone except Jess has logged a book for that so everyone can read any book you like! Sorry Jess - please read something tagged "adult". At least this one should be easier!

message 740: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Awesome! Thanks for moving us along, Cathy!

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1724 comments We're just rolling along here! I finished Confess this morning. 4 stars!
Thanks for recommending it, Laila Jane!

Looking through I think I have an adult book I haven't used! Hammered or Forged in Fire?
