Nope.... there was not a car in the beginning. It was all inside a lab/prison/cell kind of facility in the beginning. That sample looks good to. LOL
Not an alien race (he's a genetically altered human instead) but Fury by Laurann Dohner fits a lot of the other details you described.

Male of alien race chained to a wall in a cell. Men (guards) sexually & physically abuse him. A woman sees this happen and when the men and her mean boss leave the cell she tries to help the man. He is scared. He is unsure if she is there to help him or hurt him. I think they do medical experiments on the prisoners normally. The woman wants to help save him to the point that she is trying to figure out how to help him escape the cell and vanish.
