Yeah that's great. Who would you like to play?

((Sure, no problem))

Ari wasn't usually a fan of going up to the surface when the waves were as rough as they are. While it hardly effected her, it meant she had to push her tail a lot more to keep herself steady. She brushed the wet strands from her face as her eyes scanned the deserted beach. A frown tilted her lips while she contemplated going back home and away from the bad weather. The only reason she came up in the first place was so that she could spy on the humans but if there was no one there to interest her then she didn't see the point of staying and facing the risk of getting caught. If any of her sisters found out she'd gone up again then she knew that she would get an earful and she really wasn't in the mood for that. The stormy weather was making her feel uneasy.

She flicked her tail, about to push back down beneath the surface when a figure caught her eye. Furrowing her eyebrows, she tilted her head to the side and tried to see what they were doing. She didn't know all that much about humans but she did know that they were smart enough to know that the sea wasn't the right place to be in weather like that. A squeak escaped her lips when she saw them fall beneath the waves and she ducked back under, pushing herself s hard as she could so she could save them before anything could happen.

((Is that alright?))

Ari hesitated in front of the boy, reaching her hand out but not touching him. She could see him losing consciousness and she knew what her family would say if she helped him but she couldn't stop herself. It wasn't the nicest process and from the few people she'd heard, it was quite painful. Normally, she'd pull one of those old mermaid tricks and swim him back to shore but he was already losing consciousness, she could see it in his eyes. Glancing towards land, she quickly make some calculations and with the rate he was losing it, the distance from shore and how fast she could get there. Pushing her hair out of her face when it floated in front, she decided that she needed to do it. She couldn't care what her family would say at that moment so she swam closer and pressed her lips to his, feeling a sharp prickle of heat as she tried to remember everything she'd learned about this process. Pulling back, she watched in nervousness, hoping that it had worked and she had done it right.

((Don't worry about it. It's perfect ^-^))

Ari pressed her hand to her mouth as she watched him, her eyes filled with pain for him but also feeling a stab of pain in her tail. As a defense mechanism for the newly turned, a connection always formed between the two. It ensured that the human was properly inducted into society and that they didn't get into any trouble. But it also meant that the person who turned them could feel when they were in pain and it meant Ari could feel a portion of the pain he was feeling. Gently sitting next to him on the ground, she grabbed his arm as softly as she could to try and get him to stop. "Hey, hey, calm down. You're fine. I'm Arista. Ari. Yes, I am a mermaid and yes, you are now one too. Well a merman but same thing really," she explained, a warm smile on her lips as she spoke.

Ari felt a rush of panic wash over her and she pressed her lips together. She had underestimated the connection that she would have with him but she had done it and they both had to live with it. "No, you didn't die. You nearly did. You were about to and I didn't have enough time to get you back to shore to save you so I did the only other thing to keep you alive. I made you a merman. I'm not exactly sure how the process works. Some mix of science and magic that I was never particularly interested in. But every mer has the opportunity to save one person like this. By turning them. You were about to die and I just couldn't-I couldn't see you die when I knew that I could save you. Please don't hate me," she explained, getting slightly emotional about it towards the end despite herself.
