This chapter always leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth.
It's so hard to read Catelyn's chapter before this which is charged with such emotion and excitement ... to this.

She is such a weak and annoying character and to end a book such as this with her is just .. George .. What are you doing?

I thought I was the only one who was not a huge Dani fan. I thought she would be super popular.

I kind of think that it was done that way so that the reader could think about the dragons till the next book.

Maybe look at it like this: The book ends with a dragon chapter, not a Dani chapter. That might make it easier.

I used to love Dani in my first read, but now I'm just "meh". She tries to be really mature, but you can tell she's just a child and doesn't really know what she's doing. It's normal, but kind of annoying at times, at least for me.

Sorry, I have a different opinion. Whilst she was being selfish with trying to resurrect Drogo despite the consequences I think this chapter was a great and powerful ending. Martin ended this perfectly in order to get the reader excited about A Clash of Kings. To me this chapter showed the power that she is developing and her potential of becoming a fair and just leader with releasing the slaves as well as treating everyone as people not property.

I think this chapter was brilliant to end on. It has the birth of dragons. It kind of links to what Master Aemon says in ADWD 'Kill the boy and let the man be born'. The whole book she has been transforming from the scared girl into a Queen and walking into the fire was her final step.

i love how this book started with ice (in the prologue being North of the wall) and now ends with fire!

Oh I never thought of it that way Brianna (ice at start, fire at end)
