It was all looking so optimistic and hopeful for the past few chapters there
Also the final line of the previous Eddard chapter foreshadowed Ned being betrayed by Littlefinger, when Littlefinger handed the dagger back 'smiling, hilt first'I hate how Littlefinger is such a snake but I do like how clever he is
