re: "When Ned asks what made her hate Robert so much, Cersei reveals that on their wedding night Robert called her “Lyanna” in the midst of the consummation."

OK, that was an interesting tidbit of info! We have learned why she doesn't care for her hubby too much.

re: "Cersei admits that she and Jaime have been lovers since they were children and that when Jaime is in her she feels whole."

Ewwwwwww! I mean for that era it happened more than one would like to admit. But Ewwwwwwwwwww!

What is this white hart they are referring to from time to time?

Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments I've no idea, some kind of animal, obviously. I think it was translated as a "deer" or something that resembles one in the Bulgarian version, but I've given my copy to my English teacher so I can't check.

It's nice to see Ned realizing the predicament he's in-with all the people surrounding him not being people he can trust. Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place with not being able to yell out for help.
I have to say it somewhat makes sense they would end up together. The Targaryens did stay with each other to maintain pure blood. BUT look how that turned out-with mad kings and what not. Maybe that's why Joffrey is so... Joffrey. lol He has a bit of mad king in him as well. (It's still gross though)
I feel like Cersei totally overreacted to being called another woman's name. I get it, it is upsetting, but to go to the lengths she has and to have that much hate for Robert... it seems extreme.
I love how Ned threw it back in her face-"I shall wear that as a badge of honor."

Brianna (bebecburt) | 562 comments @ Ria: That's pretty funny!

@ Leslie: The white hart is what they (Robert, Renly, Joffrey, Barristan, etc.) were hunting. According to Sansa in the previous chapter they are "supposed to be very rare and magical." I've always imagined them as a type of deer.

oh ok. A rare Deer it is. Thanks.

I agree that Cersei totally overreacted. I doubt it would be much of a marriage anyway had Robert not done that

Omar Foster | 44 comments There are many amazing quotes in this book but Cersei's "when you play the game of thrones, you win or die. There is no middle ground" is my favourite. It perfectly sets up the final part of the book, the whole series in fact.
