I had a better week, I finished Go Set a Watchman and am getting further into Food: a Love Story. Please everyone feel free to start discussions about prompts, books, anything really! I hope everyone is doing well.

Charline (charline84) | 80 comments I finished My Sunshine Away which was really good. Yesterday I started The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America It's pretty long, so I'm thinking it'll take me until at least next week to finish it.

Katherine (kiik) Last week, I finished Wild (Oprah's Book Club) and have started on a couple more. Progress is going well.

Clare (-clare-) I've finished Cold Comfort Farm for my 'book with a title beginning with the 1st letter of your name' prompt. It is supposed to be humorous, but I didn't find it at all funny. For a shortish book of 260 pages it seemed to drag on and on. I do sometimes look at the 5* reviews and wonder if we are reading the same book. It gets a generous 1* from me.

I think I'm going to start Puddle Jumping for my ' book under 150 pages' prompt next.

Mandy | 89 comments Hello! How did you like Go Set A Watchman Tara? I haven't heard good things about it. Did you like Wild Katherine? I read it and then watched the movie and really didn't enjoy the movie at all, book is always better :)

I hope you enjoy the Devil in the White City. It's a long read but I found it quite interesting.

I finished reading Still Life with Breadcrumbs and now reading The Lake House as it seems to be a book everyone is taking about. Happy reading everyone :)

Charline (charline84) | 80 comments I know what you mean Clare, I was the same with Brave New World, it's supposed to be this classic that everyone should read, but I didn't get it. It got 1 star from me too.

I'm not very far with the Devil In The White City Mandy, but what I've read so far is interesting and I think it's going to get even more interesting. Holmes has just started building his hotel.

Mandy, I had heard bad things about it too so I went in prepared. I did like it for what it was, but if I'd been expecting what I initially thought it would be then I likely wouldn't have. It was hard to assimilate the changes in Atticus' character but that was kind of the point of the book.

I did! I haven't watched the movie yet, because I'm afraid I won't like it. That's happened the last couple times I've enjoyed a book first.

Emily Wrayburn (emilywrayburn) I haven't read Wild, but my partner and I ended up walking out of the movie because we were so bored! Hopefully the book is much better.

I'm probably going to finish Illuminae tonight or tomorrow, which will be my epistolary fiction, and I've just ordered Doctor Who: Big Bang Generation, because it was going to cost the same to buy the paperback through Book Depository as the Kindle version! That on will be my Book I Meant to Read in 2015.

Clare (-clare-) Finished Puddle Jumping short and sweet ebook about loving someone with Aspergers.

Wild the movie was boring! They cut all of her struggles and introspection not to mention 90% of the encounters she had on the trail. I'll never understand that! She nearly got assaulted at one point, it would have made a riveting scene in the movie.

Ah, that's so upsetting! Oh, well, guess I won't be rushing off to see it then.

Joellen (jojoellen) | 2 comments Hi Tara, I agree the movie by itself was decent, but after reading the book and gaining from its depth and development of the characters, it made the movie kind of anticlimactic. save your money and don't pay to watch the movie.
