Harri Holappa | 1 comments Hello, science fiction and fantasy writers of Goodreads!

I’m studying Information Studies at the University of Oulu, Finland. I need help for my master’s thesis survey on the information-seeking behavior of SF&F writers. Simply put, I'm studying what information sources and channels are used in various aspects of SF&F writing and what characteristics of sources are the most important.

Please consider participating in the survey if you consider yourself a scifi or fantasy writer and have at some point in time:

- written at least one chapter's worth of original fiction, and

- sought or gotten information on what a writer's life is like, how the publishing process works, the business of writing, or what the current trends in science fiction and fantasy are.

Link to the survey: https://www.webropolsurveys.com/S/C94...

The survey should take about 20-25 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. The final master’s thesis (in English) will be found in PDF form at http://jultika.oulu.fi/Search/Home by late summer / early fall this year. Just type my name (Harri Holappa) into the search field.

I really appreciate your time helping me out!

Marie Cheryl | 20 comments Although I write erotic and spy novels under the pen name Marie Cheryl Eddings, in my real world persona I have been an information miner and technology analyst, teaching information recovery methods and sources to librarians and market research folks, among others. Would my background be of interest?
