If you have read Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murdersby Vincent Bugliosi discuss it here.

Also, if you know of any other good books about Manson, post them here.

Fishface | 18867 comments This was my first, and is still my favorite, TC story. I'm not even sure how many times I've read it but I get something different out of it every time I've read it, starting in 1977.

Angelica (hele84) I love this book!! It's what got me into true crime books.

Lee | 130 comments I recommend reading The Family by Ed Sanders,he really gets into the dark creepiness of some of the characters who were about at that time in the same circles as the Manson family.

Fishface | 18867 comments The one I want to read -- and can't find an affordable copy of -- is Surfin' with Satan: The Strange Case of Charlie Manson and the Beach Boys.

I can highly recommend Sharon Tate and the Manson Murders. It tells you a lot about what happened to all the other folks surrounding this case. What ever happened to Linda Kasabian? Where are the un-arrested Manson Family members now? This book tells you that cool stuff -- except, alas, about Juan Flynn.

This sounds rather bizarre.

Precisely why I want to read it. Bugliosi never got into the Beach Boys chapter of the Family saga beyond saying "it was the biggest gonorrhea bill in history."
